Ok, so here is my update on how my interview went with the IRS on Saturday. I was there for 5.5 hours, I thought I would never get out of there. There were about 8 of us that were going thru the process. The accounting exam part of it was not too bad. I had trouble with the last question, but I did my best. That took 75 minutes. The it was the phone interview part of it. I had 30 minutes to look over the cases and review the policies. Then I got 4 phone calls from the people who were doing the assessment. They were playing the roll of real clients, angry clients. I got all flustered and didn't know what to say. I barely made it thru, I never felt my heart beating so much in my chest. Well, after that was over I got finger printed. Then I waited for like 45 minutes to get called in for the interview. I was the last one to go in. They were not happy questions that they asked me. All behavioral type questions. It was hard to think of examples. "Tell me about a time when you had to build rapport with a co-worker when the odds were against you. What did you do? What was the outcome?" Huh?
I made it out alive and there is nothing that I wish I would have done differently. I put my all into it and I did my very bestest. So even if I do not get a job offer, I am happy that I tried. If they don't want me now, I will reapply when I am more ready and qualified.
I want to say thanks to Chrissy and Brooke for treading all the way to Schaumburg to spend the night with me. And for getting up oober early in the morning. The rest of the weekend was so much fun. I'm glad I stayed, I can't wait to visit again. And Brooke, I will try to remember cheese curds for you.
