All the World's a Stage

While teaching Shakespeare's As You Like It to my freshman English class at the University of Kansas, I was reminded of how much of our common language is shaped by our best writers. "I can't see why everyone thinks Shakespeare is such a great writer," commented one student. "His plays are full of clichés."
