Congrats to the Buffalo Bills! A 3-0 start to the season and they beat the Patriots, which honestly I didn't believe they would. I've always liked the underdog and the Bills definitely qualify as that. It's fantastic watching the fans that have suffered through so many disappointing years get to see their team succeed. I like the QB they have now and I like that they can win from behind. That's how you know it's a good team. If you can be down 21-0 and not only take the lead but win the game- not once but twice- then you know that team is resilient to say the least.
Speaking of the Pats though, what happened to Tom Brady? Four intercepts? That's not like him at all. I wonder if not having, ex-Gator- [excuse me while I squee], Aaron Hernandez, had anything to do with that epic melt down. I know while he played for Florida he was Tebow's go-to guy and for good reason- the boy can play.
Another team on the raise it seems is the Browns! I'm so excited about that because I have so many friends that love them. Not to mention, I really adore Colt McCoy. I loved watching him lead an offense while he played for Texas (and I'm enjoying watching his younger brother, Casey do the same for the Longhorns).
Now let me start this by saying I don't like ANY player to get hurt in a game. Yes I like watching monster hits, but I also like to see the player get up and go again. I hate seeing the stretcher come out and I don't enjoy when they get taken out of the game completely. To me football is only at it's best when all the best players are on the field... however, if there was a player I could get a vicious thrill out of seeing being taken off the field- it's Michael "dog killer" Vick. I don't like him. I don't care that he went to jail and served his time for the dog fighting ring he established- the jerk off sucks! He trained animals, sweet innocent animals, to kill and if they didn't perform he killed them. He beat them, starved them, was all around cruel to them and he only served two years- then came back into the NFL and got a 100 million dollar contract. It's disgusting. It's one of the reasons I hope the Eagles fail. So excuse me if I don't get all weepy at the fact that while playing yesterday, Vick broke his NON-THROWING hand. It's a violent game! He is one of the more physical QBs out there. He runs into traffic and when he stands in the pocket, he gets hit. It happens. It's the price you pay when you play a game like football professionally. I didn't see the hit, I didn't get to see the game because of work, but I heard that Vick isn't happy that the refs didn't throw a flag... that happens too. I don't know if the hit was legal or not, but pissing off the refs isn't the best course of action. Any way, the Eagles lost and the Giants (who I love, because I love Eli Manning- SEC QB baby!) won.

College:The Gators beat Kentucky on Saturday 48-10. It was a good display for our running backs. Demps ran for over 150 yards (most of those coming from an awesome 80+ yard touchdown run) and Rainey ran for over a hundred yards as well. Our passing game definitely will not send defenses running for their mommies but it was alright. Brantley managed the game well and threw to open receivers when the time called for it. There was one scary moment when it looked like he might be out for the game, he left for the locker room just before half time and our back-up QB: Driskell took over... and promptly threw an interception. I know he is a Freshman and has a lot (a lot) to learn but that's not something you want to see right away. Rainey also looked gimpy at one point and honestly if he or Demps go down, we would be SCREWED! The coaches really need to keep them healthy for the games we have coming up. Our schedule is about to become brutal.
Our defense is continuing to show dominance when needed. We got intercepts and that's what we need (especially at the beginning of the game when our offense was stuck in neutral). The penalties were down greatly, so we didn't give Kentucky unearned yards. All and all, it was a complete and utter blow out, which it usually is when we play Kentucky.
Next week is the real scary test of our new offense and defense- we play Alabama. We've lost against them two years in a row. I'm hoping this will be the turn around year.
Texas A&M is now officially part of the SEC. Which means the Gators will be playing the Aggies at least once and a while. I'm looking forward to that. I like the idea of a Texas team being in our conference. It should be interesting. I watched their game against Oklahoma State (oh congrats to that team for their come from behind win) and saw a lot of great potential in their team. The SEC is a hard conference, especially in the West where Texas A&M will most likely play, so I hope they are ready for next year.
So to recap: Gators are 4-0, baby!!! The Browns are standing strong. The Bills are making a case for themselves-yay! And all is right with the world...
Until next week!
