Glee... why do I watch?
I really haven't figured out why I watch Glee anymore. I told myself I wouldn't after the crappy writing of the fall season, but I went ahead and watched anyway. I have so many issues with the way the writers have been handling things and if I had hope that three months would have changed things I was sorely mistaken. Once again it became the Rachel show. Rachel's issues, her songs, her world... Well I guess that isn't entirely true, but it's very close. Emma/Will and Finn did take center stage with her. I just hate how little we know about the rest of the characters and I really could get drunk taking a shot each time someone says "Rachel is the star" "Without Rachel we couldn't win" etc. Because of the over saturation of Rachel, I even hated one of my favorite song "Gives you Hell". She killed, destroyed, murdered, beheaded it. I have buried my copy and will never listen to it again.
The fact is, I want to know about everyone on the show. What's Tina's life like? Is Artie still crushing on Tina or does he like someone else? Since football is over what is Kurt doing when away from glee club? Does Mercedes have a hot guy on the line? What kind of mischief do Kurt and Mercedes get into? What was the rest of the glee clubs "Hello" songs? Are we ever going to hear Matt (the black guy) or Mike (the Asian guy) speak?
Its frustrating to have a show that could be so amazing, with all this talent, waste away because it's too focused on three characters. So annoying.
I will say: Will is an asshole. I can't believe he cheated on Emma. I'm actually happy that Emma was strong enough to break up with Will. She has to be the least self-involved person on the show...
Next week is the "Power of Madonna". I'm sure most of the songs will be sung by Rachel. I'm sure I'll walk away just as annoyed and even knowing that, I'm sure I will watch with the hope that someone else on the cast will get the chance to shine.
