AAAHHHHHH!

My Gators played last night and won. It was a ten point game and we controlled them for the last half of it - intercepting two throws and returning one for a touchdown. The team is undefeated. It has a 20-0 winning record (that starts from the horrible loss to Ole Miss in the beginning of last year). It's the longest record currently held by a college football team. The Gators have clinched a spot in the SEC Championship game and have been number one all year long. The Gators' defense is one of the best in the nation. Holding the competition to just two touchdowns or under most of the year.

This is all great... And I'm not the least bit happy.

The main problem I have is that while we are winning, the wins seem hollow. If this is a team that wants to get to the national championship game they sure aren't acting like it. The offense found it's voice in one game- The Georgia/Florida game. It was such a complete win that I was convince my team had returned. True we don't have Harvin and Murphy so the points we put up weren't super, but other players were stepping up and we did command the game. It was offense, defense and special teams working together. It was the best game I've watched all year.

Then the Brandon Spikes thing happened and Coach Meyer was fined.

The next game was subdued. We still won and won in a dominating fashion but... it felt incomplete. Last night Brandon Spikes was back. No controversy was following the team. We went to South Carolina... and started to fall apart again.

Now I will say that South Carolina plays it's best at it's home field- which is obvious. All the fans are there. The support gives the team power. So seeing the Gamecocks start to roll was not a shock. Seeing our defense give up two touchdowns was. Seeing the offense stuffed on fourth down was heart-attack inducing. Seeing our kicker -that has kicked a 52 yard field goal- miss THREE field goals was one of the worse parts. I understand everyone has a bad game, so Sturges is alright in my book...Coach Meyer on the other hand might be a different story.

It's pretty funny that I'm complaining about a team that has won every game. That is number 1 (or at least was number 1). It seems petty. I should be happy. Even a close win is a win.

But I know that the team is better than this. I know that we are a stronger team than what is shown on the score board. We have talent for days. We have some of the fastest players in the country. We have one of the best rushing QBs in the nation. Our defense is scary fierce. Our special teams are fantastic. I know that national championship team is in there. I just don't think they are going to find it in time to actually play for the title. The really sad part is, even if by the grace of God we beat Alabama to go to the BCS title game- Texas will kill us.

No matter what happens- the Gators are my team and I love them. They play hard when it counts. I just wish they would play hard period.

10 and 0 is a good place to be.
