The World Keeps Spinning Faster

Hey everyone. This is a really quick update (because that's all the time I have) on what's been happening in my life.

First I want to start with my weight lost challenge to myself. If anyone actually reads my facebook page you already know this but I've officially lost 5.4 pounds in two weeks. I'm half way done with my first goal. It's been a battle to get this far and I've had a lot of slips (today being one of my slip days), but I've really been trying to stick with it. Hopefully next week I'll be able to report an even better weight loss number. For right now, I'm happy with 5 pounds off my body.

Second: As I wrote Monday, I watched the True Blood Season 2 (so far) and I'm completely bonkers for Eric and Sookie. I decided that since I've already watched the second season I should probably go back and finish watching the first. (I know that's backwards, but *shrugs*) I have to admit that I didn't love the first season and it's probably a good thing I didn't base my opinion solely on those 12 episodes. The first five were exactly how I remember them, but from then on, I sort of lost interest. The only thing that kept me glued to my computer screen was the small glimpses of Eric. And his reactions to things. As my friend says, "Eric is a BAMF." (Bad Ass Mother F'er) There were moments that I loved of course. I'm hopelessly addicted to Sam, Jason, Lafayette and Hoyt. Still can't stand Tara. I fast forward through so many scenes if she was in them. Sookie's relationship with Bill...not feeling it. Even at the beginning, I just thought why would anyone want to be with him? Because I feel this way about the season one episodes, I don't know if I'll ever go back and watch them again. Mainly, I'm just glad to finally understand all the comments made in season two.

Third: I've finally finished a book. This is such a relief because it's been so long since I've really sat down and enjoyed reading a book. The last book I finished was New Moon and that feels like forever ago. I wanted to have read at least five books this summer and I haven't done very well on that challenge at all. I think that might finally be changing...and I have True Blood to thank for it. I'm reading the series that the show is based on. "The Sookie Stackhouse Novels" The first one is called "Dead Until Dark" and it's basically the first season of True Blood, but better in my opinion. I love book!Sookie. She's ballsier than I thought she would be. She definitely had more sass. The one thing that I really noticed right away is some of the main plots points were shifted/added/subtracted/changed to fit the show. That's to be expected because well when has a tv show/movie ever stayed completely with the book. I'm actually conflicted in some ways. While I loved the book (and can't wait to start reading Living Dead in Dallas [book 2]) I have to admit I like the fact that other characters shine in the show. Since the book is first person, a POV that I don't always like and has to be written well and/or be extremely interesting to me so I don't throw the book across the room, all the information comes from Sookie. The TV shows has different storylines for each character and I like that...however, I dislike Sookie in the show a lot of the time. In the books, she has more spunk and refuses to be backed into a corner, but doesn't jump on everyone for everything. I don't know. My opinion might change as the series goes on, both on the small screen and in print, but right now. I have a lot of love for Book!Sookie. And Book!Eric is already making me giddy. That might be because I love TV!Eric so much through. *laughing* Especially considering he doesn't even really play that big of a role in the first book.

Fourth: Soaps are pissing me off. Have all the writers decided that writing intelligently and with class is horrible thing to try and do? I have missed all the soaps for almost a week now and I really can't say that I long to see them. General Hospital is a hot mess, Young and the Restless needs to change the title to Yawn and the Sleepy, As The World Turns has moments of greatness and then moments of "WTF? Are they kidding me? Seriously? God!" I will say that Riley and Alison are making me happy.

Fifth: Thank you all for the comments on my last chapter. I will get to replying as soon as I can. **hugs**

Um I think that is all. I got to run now.
