Post from Sanibel island...

Hello all my LJ friends! how are you doing? I've missed you and thought I would fill you in on the life and times of Jai. This is really going to be a rambling post so forgive me. To all of you that I haven't responded to: Entry-wise and comment-wise, I'm so sorry. I have very limited time on the internet (the place where we are staying doesn't have wireless or a hook-up so i have to wait until my sister visits [like today] because she has one of those Verzion wireless hook-up thingys.) As soon as I'm back home I will get to all the messages that are waiting for me. **hugs**

Now for the ramble:

First let me say that I have been thinking about my new chapter of "Serving Up Trouble" but I want to know if there really is a demand for this story or not. I know that the show (Young and the Restless) is moving forward with Chloe and Chance and while I don't see any romantic chemistry [they have a great friend vibe from the clips I watch on Jenny's LJ] I know that my opinion isn't everyones. In fact I saw on a website that someone has already set up a message board for the two of them. I didn't click on it, so I don't know where or what the message board is like. This question is just to test interest. I know that I like the tale and will continue for myself, but I just wanted to know if that feeling is share with others. *nervous grin*

Second: I'm in Fort Myers right now, or more to the point Sanibel Island. This is the family vacation we have every year. I've only been here a day and a half and I'm already a toasted brown color. *laughing* I'm so thankful I don't turn a lobster red when I tan. *claps hands together in thanks* God blessed me when he made me part Italian. *laughing* The beaches here aren't as beautiful as they usually are because seaweed is floating in, but it's still really nice to just walk the beach and  hunt for shells. This is how I manage to get so tan because when I'm in that mind set, time gets away from me.

Third: I finally got caught up on Leverage. This season is starting out to be better than last season and that is shocking to me because I adored the first one. Eliot is still making my heart pound (God Christian Kane is hot) and Hardison made me giggle. I love the two of them and when you add Parker to the mix, the fun really starts. I got Adam completely hooked on this show. It's really worth the watch if you get a chance. Another great TNT show is Hawthorne with Jada Picket Smith. It's a show about hospital nurses and their patients. Really smart and endearing. A Fox show I've been keeping my eye on, thanks to Hella Good, is Mental. These are all really great alternatives to the summer reruns and reality shows.

Fourth: Um, this might come off harsh so please forgive me, but what is so wrong with a character being a virgin as Chance is? I was watching the clips on Jenny's page thinking that Chloe seems to think that Chance being a virgin is astounding and not necessarily in a good way. Yes this could have been just my view on her actions, but when he told her she took it to be a "joke" then she wanted details and toward the end she kissed him as if to say, well if you had been kissed right you wouldn't be a V-guy now. Add to that we get this "goofy" background music while Chance is talking about waiting for the right person and the right moment. I get so frustrated sometimes because it's almost like a curse to wait. Movies make fun of it (40 Year- Old Virgin), teen movies try to get across that being a virgin is stupid and only nerds/geeks should still be one, tv-shows look down on people that don't sleep around and soaps rarely show characters that are a virgin. In this day and age where diseases run wild, other lifestyle ways are accepted and being sexually aggressive is seen as sexy and a good thing, I have come to the conclusion that virginity is the new homosexuality. Something to be kept in the closet and to be ashamed of. I was really turned off by Chloe in that scene. I know she is going to "rid" Chance of this "burden" and we should all cheer her on, but can't he be commended for having enough pride in himself and enough respect for women to hold off until he is with someone he truly loves, instead of doing some random hook-up like Chloe, Billy, Sharon, etc do.

Fifth: General Hospital is so depressing lately, but I have to say that Sarah Brown (Claudia) is rocking this storyline. The "People that I want off the show for good" list is growing: Olivia, Dante, Sonny, Carly, Jax, Michael, Kristina, Kiefer (Kristina's boyfriend), Rebecca. The list of people I'm loving has grown as well though. I used to only watch for Spinelli and Maxie...now I love Lulu, Lucky, Liz, Ethan* (only with Lulu, Lucky and Liz), Jason, Sam, Molly, Alexis, Diane * (only with Max and some clients), Max, Johnny* (when he isn't being a dickhead), Robin, Patrick... So the good out weighs the bad. *laughing*

Okay I think that is enough rambling. *grin* I'll be back among the internet people Sunday...that might be the next time I can update. **hugs**
