I don't know if I heard this as a joke or on NPR, but I heard roosters are canabalistic. That if one goes down, they will eat the dead one up. Might have to look that up. It sounds like you're having fun with it though. I'm sorry you lost one and another one may be potentially sick. Hope it gets better too.
