fast lane -> ! (1) ! (2) ! (3) ! (4) ! (5) !

Friday night, 12:25, driving down Highway 80 W, just between the Gilman Street Exit and the Gilman Street Onramp. I'm in the lane 2nd from the right (see lane #4 above. Dan in in the passenger seat. My car suddenly jerks to the right and begins spinning, hydroplaning, we are now in lane # 5, I pull the wheel left and we begin spinning the other way, after about three or four 360 degree circles, somewhere between lane #3 and lane #2 another car hits us, we spin one more time and end up in the fast lane, smashed against the cement center divider, facing the opposite direction of oncoming traffic with the passenger side crushed against the cement. We continue to tavel about two hundred yards this way, scraping along the center divider until we finally come to a halt, screaming, and watching other cars schreeeching to avoid us.

We are both OK. Some neck and back problems on my part but on the whole we are fine. Thank God for Dan who kept me sane. My car is totalled and a lot of my stuff that was in my trunk is destroyed or still on the highway but we are safe and thats all that mattered.

I haven't slept much since the accident, I just can't sleep. I never understood the concept of terror before now, it's not something you can comprehend just by hearing or reading about. Its an emotion that cannot be put into words. I think what scared me the most was the fact that I actually accepted that I might die. I'm just in a really weird place in my head right now. a few hours later I got on the train to come home. I am now in LA and starting school.
