I feel like I don't ever have anything interesting to say, but what the hell?
Work seems to have settled down momentarily, now that all of the moves have been finalized. I think people have adjusted to the changes as well as they're going to adjust. I haven't heard too many grumblings, at least not like I heard the first week or so. If I'm honest, I'm not sad to see anyone leave our section. It's quiet and I don't have to deal with passive/aggressive bullshit.
HOWEVER. The Powers that Be are in the process of changing up the parking situation under the building. Now, THAT will cause drama. I, personally, think I should get Pear-Shaped's parking spot since I'm now doing all of Pear-Shaped's work and he's been demoted to a cube. Just sayin. That's likely to not happen, though, because that's what I want. LOL. I'll be walking from the back of Crampton Bowl 10 years from now.
Everyone is coming to our house tomorrow for Thanksgiving. Today is the calm before the storm. I had gone last weekend to get a jumpstart on my Christmas presents and got something for Mom. Of course, when I asked her after the fact what she wanted she said, "anything but another puffer vest." Welp. Guess who had to trot her butt back to the store to return a puffer vest? That's what I get for trying to be cute and second guess Mom. She loves going shopping on Black Friday. I hate it. I am, however, a good daughter so I will take her and not complain. Much.
Saturday is the Iron Bowl between the Chosen Team and those redneck asshats from the other side of the state. I'm not optimistic that the Good Guys will win. Meh.
I'm finishing up a book that I had high hopes for.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/24468673-the-lightning-struck-heart I've read a couple of other books by that author and liked snappy dialog and thought, "this sounds like a comic farce! Let's read it!" Ugh. It's manic. It's just too snappy and zippy and zinger-laden. There's no break from it. I know it's a parody/farce, but it's too much. I'm going to finish it and then move onto something else, because there are three books in the series and number one has already killed me.
Music: Barnes Courtney has a song out called "99" but I like his older stuff better. Here are two videos that I like, and he's not bad to look at either.
