The Von Bondies are done for. I just watched their new video for their new single "Come On, Come On". It was so awful, what happend? Lack of Communication is, what I consider to be, one of the best pieces of contemporary music available today and now they come out with, what I consider to be, probably the most awful/generic/cliche junk on earth. It is so boring and it is so dissapointing. Not to mention they now have a pink website, I am slowly begining to absolutley hate that color. I guess I'll just have to wait for their third album. I hate major record labels.
On the plus side I got a bunch of new cool stuff. Sunglasses, Jean Jacket, 2 new hooded sweat shirts, and 5 45's. The 45's are:
The Mooney Suzuki-Hot/Shitter. I bought this for $4 and I guarentee when they get huge I will be able to sell it for much more then that.
The Come Ons-Whatcha Got? A huge smile came to my face when I saw this Detroit band's very first recording ever limited to 1000 copies. $4. This was when they had 4 people in the band.
The Sonics-Don't Belive in Christmas. It's a rerelease so what? It's fucking Garage christmas music from the 1960's brought to you by the sweetest band from the 60's. I guess I will have something nice to put on the old turntable while my family and I open presents.
The Hollies-He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother. I bought this strictley so I could hear the title track, it was totally worth all $2 I spent on it.
And now for the crowning achievment of my 45rpm spending spree:
CANNIBAL AND THE HEADHUNTERS-LAND OF 1000 DANCES! My face lite up like a hobo barrel fire when I saw this sucker. An original release of the classic single "Land of 1000 Dances". I don' think I need to tell anyone how awsome this is, if I do then what's your problem? $2 for one of the greatest songs of all time. You can't beat that with a stick.
