there's a special place in hell...

I feel like vomiting.

This Virginia college killer story just keeps getting sicker and more twisted. It turns out that in between killings, the guy was able to mail a package to NBC featuring photos, video, and documents in which he likens himself to Jesus Christ, dying as a "martyr." What unbelievable blasphemy - even a non-Christian would concur.

The most sickening thing about it all is that he says, "You decided to spill my blood. You forced me into a corner and gave me only one option. The decision was yours. Now you have blood on your hands that will never wash off."

The worst thing that could come out of this, and likely will, is that our country will blame itself, "society," which is exactly what this guy expected. Our only fault is that we've become a country that is quick to throw up its hands and say, "it's our fault!" and not make its citizens own up to their responsibilities for their actions. This kind of event could only happen in a society that is blamed for every evil that exists within humankind.

People who knew of this guy, who had him in class or saw him around campus, had all remarked that he would not respond to a simple "hello." He wouldn't speak when the students in a class would go around introducing themselves. He completely shut himself out from his community, and yet accused these same people of rejecting him. He is an extreme example of selfishness and self-centered, of people who can only see wrongs in others and not within themselves.

It scares me to think that he is not alone in this country; that so many people are out there with the same mindset, to varying degrees. If nothing else, this kind of self-centeredness will be the undoing of our country and our freedom.
