Go!

Can't sleep. Need a girl to help me relax!

Been playing a lot of go recently (and a lot of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, as well!). Had the idea of making a simple 2D GUI for it, code the rules, eventually make it a nice, pretty, 3D graphics engine. But mainly, I like the idea of dabbling with AI for it. It would be purely for learning purposes, there are already a number of AI programs out there that play go. It'd just be to keep me busy, see where I can go with it. Maybe if I get up to speed about it, I can contribute to gnuGo. Which I have been playing earlier, downloaded it a few days ago, extracted and compiled it a few hours ago, told glGo where the executable was.. TaDa! Its pretty nifty, although it plays so quickly it kinda lures you into playing quickly as well. Apparently its ranked at about 8-9k. I'm a complete beginner, really, so probably about 25k. Its hard to say. I read recently that a beginner can achieve a rank of 10k in about year if they're pretty dedicated, so maybe in a year or two I'll be able to beat the code :)

Got a few other ideas kicking around. Started writing my story again, sort of from scratch. I haven't deleted everything I've written for it, but had an idea for a slight change that I liked so rewriting the start of the story to fit in with that. Who knows, maybe I'll finish it one day...

Nothing else to say really :)
