Home ownership is mostly great, but taking care of a yard is exhausting. I fell far behind on all that last year when the baby was on the way, and now I'm dealing with the fallout: specifically, a half-dead yard and weed-infested gardens.
I'm tackling only the front yard for now (the part neighbors can see) but even that is a daunting task. It took abut 4 hours between yesterday and today to rip out all the weeds in the front garden, tear up two dead bushes, and plant new bushes and flowers. The grass is turning out to be much harder...I basically have to dig up and tear out everything, regrade the ground, and lay down sod. The amount of square footage I have to do this over is downright ridiculous. I've only started and I'm already worn down and I haven't even done half of the little area between the sidewalk and the road one tiny patch of about a dozen different places that need new grass. Oh yeah, and it's near 100 degrees every day this weekend.
That's a long, rambling way of saying DAMN I'm tired.
