"It's indie rock n' roll for me / It's all I need"
So I've got a question for you all. I'm feeling out of touch with "new" music. Nah, not the crap they play on the radio (not that I have a working radio, mind you), but the stuff all the cool kids are talking about. The one thing that everybody in general is talking about.
You know what I mean...every year, there seems to be that one new band that everyone congeals around, the one that even if you don't love 'em, you've definitely heard 'em and you have an opinion about 'em. 2004, it was the Arcade Fire, '05 it was Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. '06, it was all Arctic Monkeys, '08 everybody was groovin' to Vampire Weekends. ('07, everybody suddenly discovered Of Montreal, but they weren't really "new," of course.)
But who is that band for '09? Who is the band that I just have to hear that I haven't yet? Terri threw out Bell X1, and yeah, their single is totally TEH AWESOMENESS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ec0xRWPupiM), but I don't really hear anybody talking about.
