End o' Break

Mar 27, 2006 01:35

Well we have arrived to the end of another wonderful spring break. My jaw hurts, again, I don't know why, it's not like I've been talking my head off or anything lately, I'm saving that for this summer.

Speaking of summer, won't be long until it's here. I'll be in Knoxville for basically all of the summer, minus a short trip to the beach, to decompress and generally vacation my ass off (which includes eating good seafood and sleeping, maybe playing Rise of Nations too as that is almost a tradition now). Speaking of the summer, and why I'll be in Knoxville, last year it was because I was working for the Computer Store, this summer I'm working for OIT's Digital Media Service here and there because most of my time will be taken up by my new job as an Apple Campus Rep. Oddly, they always refer to the position as Campus Rep, rather than Representative.

I sometimes wonder if I'm hip enough to be the Campus Rep, I mean really, I'm a good communicator, that's not in question, I know my Mac (and PC) stuff really well, close to no one challenges that anymore, my only question is how up and in am I with the times really. I feel like my tastes are stuck in some sort of weird limbo between the late 90's and the early 00's. Granted, my musical tastes are becoming more modern, slowly, though mostly on the indie circuit and newer classical stuff. Hmmm, who knows, I suppose this summer will show which way I'll sway in terms of hipness and cool.

Though, speaking of cool, while I may poses the ability to be cool, we have certified here in my apartment that I am basically become nerd now, especially in terms of my Stargate and Star Trek knowledge and prowess, which, will being as great as some people's whom I have met, is still, well, up there. Not to mention Battlecrack Galactismack. But we won't go there. Let's just say I'm looking forward to July.

Anyone looking for a place to live next year? I have a three bedroom, three bathroom, two story townhouse in the Woodlands with two rooms available for next year. Rent per month is $425, unless you prepay for 6 months, in which case it's $400, or for 12 months, $375, or talk to me and we'll work something you (hint hint, nudge nudge), in any case, utilities are separate. They're really nice, have swimming pools, tennis courts, basketball courts, a really nice club house with a movie theater, pool tables, and more. There, that's my little advert, enough.

Class. I almost don't care, but that's spring break talking, in reality, I'm just looking forward to the summer. Classes right now are entirely not challenging or fun in any way. I'm normally all over classes and education and everything, but at the moment, they're just not doing it for me, none are in my major and it feels almost as though I'm wasting time. Perhaps I am, but oh what the heck, on with the show eh?
