Had a very pleasent week away on the Isle of Wight - got back on Saturday evening.
We rented out a small chalet that was on a site of about 20 other similar ones, some were holiday homes while the majority people were living in. Really nice place actually, very quiet you wouldnt really know it was there from the road, and it overlooked the sea in the distance.
The good thing about the Isle of Wight is you dont have to go very far to anything as the Island is only about 30 miles across, so we did do a lot while we were there - couple of Zoo's, went to the sea side towns such has Shanklin, Sandown and the Needles where we had some nice walks and enjoyed the arcades, crazy golf, and at the Needles especially like the glass and sweet factories! Also went to a model village at Godshill, and a wax works at Brading.
We eat in most nights, I did most, well pretty much all of the cooking! No real disasters to report there, apart from a watery cottage pie which made a bit of a mess in the oven but tasted pretty good. Did go out on Friday night to a pub in Godshill for a meal which was nice.
Bit annoyed with the caretaker lady when we left as out leaving time was 10am, at 9:55 she was knocking on the door telling us it was a 10am leave - which we knew and were ready for. She then started moaning we hadnt opened the windows and used the dehumidifier! That was the only bad part really.
Went to see Grandad yesterday. Today, being a bank holiday meant I got a slightly longer holiday from work. Havent done a huge amound, cleaned the car off as didnt feel I could take ti back to work in the state it was and have been printing some photos off for mum.
