There's no fuel shortage,
it's just that the hurricane has blocked off the transportation (ships) from delivering oil from oceanic rigs and South America (that's right, South America, you ignorant fuck, that's where we get most of our gas from). This in itself is not a problem at all, as ships are already running between here and there again. The problem is that the oil rigs in the gulf are mostly out of order, so the next deliveries of fuel are just delayed. That's why there's always, that's right, always, an extra 10 day supply. The media tells us that there's only a ten day supply because they're sick fucks in bed with the corporations that make big bucks off of all these people squandering away their money on gas.
The reason gas stations are running out of fuel is because people are using it up,
thinking that there's a crisis. And furthermore, stocking up ten times what you need when there's a shortage of a good is not how you help the problem. Dirty American fuckheads like the ones I saw in Conyers were stocking up on gas in barrels to assure that the people in line behind them had as little as possible to get by on.
If this were a real crisis, it'd be like "Dawn of the Dead,"
with gas-lusting zombies attacking all the people that had extra fuel. In the event of a real crisis, douche bags like us would use up any surplus supply that existed anyway. Yeah. So quit freaking out... although don't go investing in Chevron at the moment.
