Back in action
Been a while since I have poked my head in here. I wanted to reassure you fine folks that I haven't fallen off the earth entirely. I have been throwing myself headlong into revising my game, worked through a particularly stressful bout at the office and took a two week vacation touring Gaspesie.
That vacation was excellent, with a ridiculous amount of quality smoked fish. If you can ever try Rael Roux Brandy-marinated Smoked Shrimp or the Atkins Smoked Lobster Terrine, don't hold back! I think I visited three fromageries with high quality Quebec cheeses on our trip. I even got to stop at four distinct microbreweries on our trip. La Fabrique in Matane and La Captive in Amqui were the clear winners in our little beer tasting excursion, while Le Naufrageur disappointed us somewhat.
Beyond the food, we got to enjoy the luxury of yurt camping which apparently now come standard with wine glasses, french presses and propane fridges. We did some sea kayaking with some seal watching, saw the Migratory Bird Sanctuary on Isle Bonaventure and stayed in the luxurious Gite Mont Albert
It's taking me a little while to recover from our trip, but it was worth my while. Thanks to me lovely lady for dragging me along!
