For the first time in quite a while I feel as if my horizons have been broadened.
Like my battery has been fully recharged.
What do I owe this ever so sparce occurance to?!?!
My Shakesphere lit. class and through it has come (drum roll ensues)
Transparent theatre's presentation of:
"The No Ghost Hamlet"
Yes this production was a gift! The lead of hamlet is played by a woman, the time setting is today in middle class America.
To quote Poni, "WOW, this is so American".
From the added taboo nature of Hamlet and ophelia's now lesbian relationship, to the subtle (and not so) implacations of severe drug use, this play was a nonstop drama effecting its audience in the way big daddy S would have wanted.
As the end scene began, wrapping up a blody "Resevior Dogs" style shoot-em up, I found myself thinking,
"I'm glad I ate my fucking wheaties (tm) this morning or I'd be shitting myself".
