Beforehand, Ban rarely went out, unless it was for a job or to rescue his car from the police impound lot. Now though, he found that he was going out just to meet up with the new people from the community - he was doing a good job of blocking out the memory of the alleyway and Akabane for the time being. Even the tournament had been entertaining - and the realm it had been held in was much more interesting than Shinjuku was.
Not that Shinjuku didn't have its own perks. But once you lived here for awhile, things became commonplace.
Rider wasn't, though. Interesting woman. Even though she'd sounded cold and emotionless at first, once they talked and broke down a few of the barriers, she warmed up a bit. At least enough that she'd agreed to get together without throwing down.
He let Paul, Ginji, and the others know that he was heading out for a smoke before he strode out of the Honky Tonk. The police weren't around to tow his car - thank God - and so Ban leaned against the hood of Miss Ladybug, a cigarette dangling, unlit, from his lips. His eyes scoured the crowd as he fished in his pants pocket for a lighter.
