I have a nasty buzz on my jazzmaster bridge. I tuned up to standard and it was even worse. Any advice? I'm using 13's right now. I didn't really hve this problem with 10's.

Can you identify what's buzzing? It's often one of the saddle screws - if so, get some teflon plumber's tape and wrap it around the little grub screws to stop them moving; that or blue Loctite. Even clear nail varnish will do it - and you can get that off with nail polish remover if you need to alter the saddle height.

If the bridge height adjustment screws are rattling, try the teflon tape as well, or, oddly enough, thick hair wax or pomade on the threads gives just enough resistance to stop vibration and hold the bridge in place (some Jag/JM bridges have a tendency to 'sink')

How is your guitar set up generally - have you shimmed the neck? A lot of Jazzmaster/Jag problems can be helped with a thin shim (say a .060 pick or a business-card thick piece of card) in the back of the neck pocket to increase the neck angle. Raise the bridge overall to match (and probably the bridge pickup too).

Strings can resonate behind the bridge - that's a bit of a 'feature' of the JM/Jag sound, I think, but if it bothers you you can damp it with a bit of Gaffa.

If all else fails, go the Mustang bridge - you instantly remove 12 moving parts! And if your guitar is set up properly, the lack of individual string height adjustment shouldn't be an issue - the Mustang bridge is set at exactly the right 7 1/2" radius.
