Experimental post for quidditch_stag [September 1977 - Seventh Year]
[The video opens out onto the Great Hall in Hogwarts castle. The four houses tables along with the teachers’ table are clearly visible.
The picture zooms in on the Gryffindor table. It is clear by the food that it’s only breakfast. You can see James, Peter, Sirius and Remus laughing and joking and with Lily watching them from a few seats down.
Moments later, almost a hundred owls soar into the room through the high windows looking for those to whom their letters and packages belong to. Everyone’s attention is drawn to almost black owl carrying the almost black envelope.
The silence that falls is absolute. All that can be heard is the owl’s wings as it soars around looking for the student or teacher to whom it must bring it’s terrible news and everyone is wondering the same thing. Who could it be?
The owl lands before James, takes the letter and offers the bird a piece of his bacon, no longer hungry. The owl ignores him and flies off again.
Everyone is looking at James but no one seems to know what to say. The word ‘Prongs’ comes out of one of his friend’s mouth but James has already stood, gathered his stuff and left the Great Hall, the letter tight in his grasp.
As James moves out of sight, the chattering starts. I can’t believe it. I hope he’s okay. I wonder who’s died.
Peter, Sirius and Remus are joined by Lily who looks horrified as the trio just as the video fades out.]
