It's been three days since my return and my body still wants to sleep during the day and stay up during the night.
Can I begin to list the differences between the place where I am now and the place where I just came from? For one, it was about 92 degrees with 100% humidity there, and here I'm looking out the window at light snow flurries coming down from gray skies.
It's been so wonderful settling back into "home", playing with the band again, and giving people their gifts. But the best part about coming back has been re-telling the stories I heard from the women in Thailand. These women encounter miracles on a somewhat regular basis - the kind you read about in the New Testament: healing, supernatural protection from harm, exorcism. The kind of stories you and I don't easily believe. But in addition to those exceptionally intriguing stories, they told stories of isolation, loneliness, feeling like no one back home or on the field "gets their life". I look forward to speaking with people at my church about how we can better serve those we've sent.
There are so many specific stories and women's faces swirling around in my head right now. If you're interested in hearing more about any of them, let me know. I'd be happy to get a cup of tea with you or shoot you an email.
Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement while I was away. They accomplished much.
