I
n a land far, far away, a spirit formed under the ivy violet pots of potions resting on the dusty oak shelves. The glass shivered as the cold November wind blew in from the tall, wooden window. The jingles of glass broke its chime by crashing onto the floor; the wind was too strong for these fragile bottles. Mixtures of white, pink, and lavender came clashing together, forming an aura on the pure white walls of the old spell room. The aura started to shape itself; the pink aura carefully trace the outline of a majestic girl, her hips curved delicately with a spark; The aura went further into tracing her short limbs, then to the toes of her feet. With a glint of glitter, the aura that was shadowing against the wall wasn’t there anymore, but, a small silhouette was plastered against it. The aura is now a human. The girl wandered around the room with a confused look on her face. She didn’t know where she was, who she is, and what she is. Human? Maybe, but she wasn’t given birth to. Witch? She doesn’t know.
She stared at the tall mirror that stretched from the ceiling to the ground; She has long blonde hair that flowed silkily down her shoulders; her short bangs fell messily down her forehead, covering her eyes sexily; her eyes are round and tinted with light pink and a pinch of hazel; Her pink lips curved into a natural pout, making her more irresistible than how she already is; Her skin was as pale as ivory, but soft like a puddle of feathers. In other words, she looked like a cute porcelain doll.
Suddenly, the creaking of the big door filled the once silent room. A man wearing a large wizard hat and a blue velvet robe strolled in the room. He was holding a large orb staff that what many presume is a ‘stick’. The girl strained her neck to take a look of who had just come in, and without hesitating she opened her mouth to speak.
“…Who are you?” Her voice is sweet and high pitched, full of cutesy and charm.
The young wizard was surprised to find a girl, moreover a naked girl in his spell room. Why naked? She had nothing to begin with, literally.
“ I should ask you the same question!” The young wizard half-screamed. Before the girl could even answer, the broken pieces of glass created a shrilled melody. That particular noise caught the young wizard’s full attention. He gasped and ran up to the place where the broken pieces of glass are. He studied the liquid that fell onto the floor carefully before widening his eyes with shock.
“ Girl, try saying ‘ Nights will fall, and days will go on’.”
“ …Why?”
“Just do it.” He snapped.
“’Nights will fall, and days will go on.’” The girl chanted.
Suddenly, what was originally night, had become day. The sun was shining brightly, the fresh air was blowing in and everything that was once dark had become bright.
The young wizard remained silent. He licked his ring finger and lifted his hand up. “ West.” He muttered. He ran back to his book with an unreadable expression plastered onto his face.
The only words that the girl could hear from then were ‘West’ ‘Angel’ ‘Danger’ ‘Devil’.
“ Um, excuse me, may I know what is going on?” The girl finally managed to voice out.
The young wizard turned his head towards her, and stared.
“….I will explain it to you later.”
“ Ok, before explaining everything to me, can you like, um, get me some clothes?”
The young wizard gaped at the girl before going out to fetch some clothes for her.
The girl glanced awkwardly around the once dark room.
Did I really do this? She asked herself. She felt disoriented, she didn’t know where to go, what to do. She leaned her back against the wall and gave a long sigh; she tried to fight the awkward feeling of standing in a place she doesn’t know bare-naked away.
The creaking of the door yet again broke the silence of the room.
This time, it wasn’t the wizard. It was a young cheerful woman.
“ Kang In told me about you,” she smiled softly, “Here, wear these.”
The girl smiled sweetly at the woman and thanked her.
“ Umm, excuse me but who is this Kang In that you are talking about?”
“Oh, he didn’t introduce himself to you yet?”
The girl shook her head innocently.
“ Kang In is that young wizard you saw just now! He’s my husband. Oh, my name is Jung Soo by the way! What’s your name?”
The girl stared blankly at Jung Soo as if she had two heads popping out from her neck.
“ Oh, right… you don’t have one do you?”
The girl shook her head again.
“ Well, since you are now my responsibility, I guess I should give you a name, no?”
The girl grinned and nodded enthusiastically.
Jung Soo cooed and hugged the girl.
“ Hmm, I shall name you… Sung Min.” Jung Soo said with confidence.
“ Sung…Min?” The girl recited. She gave Jung Soo a toothy smile, “ I like it.”
Jung Soo giggled and happily helped Sung Min to wear the clothes that she had brought to her.
Sung Min stared at her reflection.
She pressed her fingertips against the icy cold mirror and moved her face closer to it.
“What am I...?”
