Fifteen minutes more, Leeteuk thought as he checked his wristwatch for the 100th time. It turned into a habit after Kangin told him that morning that he wanted to have dinner with him. He is excited, of course. He doesn’t usually ask him out. Normally, they would just cook something together and eat it at the dorm while watching Titanic or any other Hollywood movie that they can find in Donghae’s stash. It is different this time; Kangin wanted him to dress up. According to him, he has to say something very important.

“Maybe he’s going to propose.” Leeteuk uttered softly.

“Who is?”

He turned to the voice. He forgot that Heechul is just behind him, looking for some manga to read from his bookshelf. “No one.” He replied.

Heechul ignored his remark. “Don’t be ridiculous, Jungsoo. Kangin is not going to propose to you if that’s what you think this is all about. Besides, gay marriage is not yet legalized, you know.”

Leeteuk pouted like a little kid. Heechul can always read him like an open book. “You’re just jealous because Hankyung is avoiding you these past few days.”

“Correction; I’m the one avoiding him. That man wouldn’t have the courage to ignore someone like me.” Heechul replied with a smirk on his face.

“Whatever.”

“I’m serious though. Kangin and you are not going to work out. I just don’t see something in his eyes when he looks at you. I don’t want to be the one to break it up to you but stop being delusional. If I were you, I won’t go.”

“It’s none of your business. Just continue what you’re doing and quickly get out off my room.” He said.

“But I can’t find the last volume of Absolute Boyfriend.” Heechul complained.

“It’s on the bed. I just finished it last night.”

Leeteuk watched as Heechul walked towards his bed and pulled out the manga underneath his pillow. The guy held it up and told him that he’ll borrow it. He just nodded. Heechul exited the room and didn’t even bother to say thanks.

Fancy. It is the first thing that came in Leeteuk’s mind as he entered the restaurant. A waitress approached him. She asked him to follow so he did. Eyes were all on him as they wended their way to the table that Kangin reserved. Soon enough, his vision caught him sitting and drinking a glass of wine. Leeteuk smiled but it quickly faded as he learned that he’s not alone. Seated across Kangin is a girl wearing a bright red dress. He can only see her back so he has yet to judge her beauty. They were happily laughing to each other, like they’re the only people in the world. He’s scared but he has to know.

‘No, Jungsoo, she’s just a friend and nothing else. Now, go there and get your man.’

“Teukie-hyung!” Kangin called out to him as he went nearer.

He barely smiled but the guy didn’t seem to notice. “Youngwoon-ah.”

“Come on, I want you to meet someone.” He said and excitedly pulled him to the table.

“Sunhee, this is Leeteuk-hyung.”

The girl stood up and bowed to him as she introduced herself. Leeteuk gulped. Beautiful is an understatement. He couldn’t find the right word to describe her. He felt the sky crash down on him. It can’t be, right? Kangin loves him! But his eyes tell him otherwise. He hates it; the way Kangin looks at her. He never saw him look at him like that. His eyes; they are full of love and admiration.

‘Kangin and you are not going to work out. I just don’t see something in his eyes when he looks at you.’

Leeteuk felt empty. Was he the only one who fell? All this time, the care he’d been showing him wasn’t because of love?

‘Stop being delusional.’

His heart completely shattered as he once again heard Kangin’s voice.

“Hyung, she’s my girlfriend. We’re going to get married.”

FIN

It's short and crappy, I know. Sorry. I'm also contemplating whether the story actually relates to Freefall. Anyway, hope you still enjoyed it. ^^
