Hmm... can you guess what I'm going to write about?

ASHLAND WAS AWESOME! It was such a great first experience for me! All the shows were great (for the most part) and being around friends and the boyfriend was wicked fun! I have to say, the trip was an overall great experience.

The plays:
By the waters of Babylon, Richard III, Philanderer, Twelfth Night, Dr. Faustus. I dozed off in EVERY SINGLE ONE of those shows! It's not that they were bad at all... they were awesome! It's just with everything going on; the eating, the walking, the imense amounts of making out *wink*, the lack of sleep, I just didn't have the energy! I did stay up for most of the shows and they were awesome. My favorites were definately Richard III and Twelfth Night. Richard was flippin' SCARY! He did an amazing job in scaring the living snot out of me. So much so that i had to clutch onto the nearest big bodied boy that was standing around. Of course, Damon got the brunt of it, but when he had to go to his car, Jesse was my next protector. Yeah, great protector he was! He kept letting go of me and walking like Richard, telling me he was right around the corner, or behind a car, or right behind me. DANGIT JESSE!! Yeah, it was nuts! I guess that says a lot for Richard III's acting. He was WONDERFUL! All the actors in that show were wonderfully cast! Add them to the wonderful lighting choices and great stage direction and you've got an amazing production! As much as it scared me, I loved it. I would see it again.

Twelfth Night was interesting to see because a couple of us studied it in Advanced Acting. Donny and i kept reciting the scene that we did before the show in anticipation of seeing it done by a crew of professional actors. Amazingly, their staging was quite similar to ours! My eyes lit up as I took in the scene, almost mouthing it with them. I'm sure Donny was in the same position. It was interesting to see what lines they made comedic, because some of them you wouldn't expect. It was a great show, and wonderfully done. I have to say, Malvolio was HILARIOUS! He added such color to the cast. I particularly loved his performance. That, and Sebastian was not exactly hard to look at =).

Ok, now time for me to vent about the plays that I didn't particularly like. Philanderer... Eh. I just think a lot of it was over acted. The guy who played the Philanderer didn't seem slick enough, and I think he compensated by over exaggerating everything. Grace was the only girl who played her role well in my opinion. There was a saving grace in the show, which was this very cute page boy who would sing and dance randomly throughout. He did a great job! He did amazing character work.

Faustus... ouch. Ouch is what describes that show to me. Good thing: the language was amazing in my opinion. Marlowe really knew what he was doing! I'm sad that he died so young. I think he would have been an even more amazing playwright had he not kicked the bucket so early. SADNESS! Unfortunately, the lead actor did not do justice to Marlowe's work. He was very flat in my opinion. There was no conflict shown in him when he was trying to decide between heaven and hell. His character development didn't seem to grow in my opinion. Malasopholus (I hope that's how you spell it) on the other hand did a great job and seemed to upstage Faustus... which I don't think was Marlowe's intention. The lead being so horrible and unnecessary pirotechnics made the show almost unbearable to watch. Some of the crew even left early due to their dislike of it. I think that's unfortunate because it now makes a great conversation piece, but hey, to each his own. I was soarly disappointed though, because I was quite excited to see a Marlowe play. Hopefully I will see one done well before my life is over.

So yeah, enough about the plays... let's talk about the experience in Ashland! That place is beautiful! The open space was a nice change to Seattle. Besides, I love atmosphere of small towns. It just seems more inviting to me. I'm not as intimidated by the noise and pace. I have to say, living there would not intimidate me in the least. The University is great too. Staying in the dorms was interesting. We were on the 5th floor, with no elevator! Yeah, whatever food we ate was burned off by the 5 flights of stairs we had to climb at least twice a day. I need to work out more. I was winded almost every time I got up those stairs. Woo! I did enjoy the room assignments though =). It was kewl because we were all on the same floor and we had to share a bathroom. That was in interesting experience. My first shower was taken with Jesse in the next stall over. Haha, that was wierd. Damon and I constantly took showers next to each other and would have small water fights every now and again, inturrupted by a small kiss as we both peeked out of our shower stalls at the same time. It was very cute =). I did see a lot more naked bodies than I'm used to on a regular basis, but hey, we're all friends here!

I highly enjoyed hanging out with everyone in town! My fondest memories are of all of us just hanging out. I loved playing frisbee! One of my favorite moments is when I brought a blanket to Lithia park and somehow, the entire crew ended up on it! Damon jokingly had a fit, saying it was "our blanket" and proceeded to push people over. It was fun relaxing with everyone! Good times, good times. More good times... Donny thowing me over his shoulder as we're leaving Faustus!! I must have drawn looks from strangers because I was screaming at the top of my lungs telling him to let me down as people slapped my ass as hard as they could. I tried to grab for Damon and he wouldn't even help me! He just watched, laughted, and let me suffer! DANGIT BABIE!!! DANGIT DONNY!!! Oh well, it was good times too.

Well, that's all I can talk about for now. I'll write more later, maybe something a little more private =). I have to say... I LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF IT!
