Working tech ranting

Haha, it's tech time!!

I can tell because when you spend such long periods of time with people, their true natures come out. Clicks start to form. Personalities begin to clash. It's a stressful time for all of us.

Yes, I do get sucked into the maddness. I tend to stay with people who are in my comfort zone (Laura... because she is my host...) and freely air out my annoyances with people. It is very bad of me, I see that. I will do my best to stay away from that pattern.

I have to say though... it's hard when people become unprofessional. Yes... I know... I'm one to talk, right? I'm always loud and distracting. I like to laugh and sometimes me having a good time can be annoying to the person next to me. Still though, I have to say when it's time to calm, I calm... or do my best to do so. I would hope everyone else in my cast would do the same.

The unprofessional behavior I have to say I hate the most is underminding authority. I hated it even when I wasn't in a position of power. Now that I am, it's even more so. It is up to the director, choreographer, stage manager, or in this case, the dance captain to tell you what to do, what order to go in, how to stand, things like that. When there is a cast member trying to decide that and play a role of power, it drives me insane. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave that up to people of authority. Things will change, movement will be different, but just leave it up to them. It's their job.

Also, underminding comments get me nuts too!! If you think a movement or a piece of choreography sucks... wait to air it out with your other castmates in the dressing room. Have dinner with friends after rehearsal and vent your heart out. Wait til you get home and type it on your blog! DO NOT, PLEASE FOR MY SANITY make a comment in the middle of a number while we're standing there! It disheartens the rest of the cast and takes energy away. And truthfully, it's just annoying.

OK, there's my rant. Now that I have that out, I am going to try and do the best and work on my many flaws as well. I do have many many many =).
