trying to update.

Wow. I just spent the last couple hours reading all the entries in my journal. I used to post a lot! Let's see if I can get back into that?

What's going on? Lots of things, really. Working Friday-Sunday. That's rough on my body. For some reason, the further along I get, the harder it is to give massages to people! ha! I love the work though, so it's hard to step back and say "I can't do this much longer."

Got the rubber band thing down for the braces. They are scheduled to come off 9/20/07 at 10:40 am. hehe! 2 days shy of the 2 year mark! I can't believe it's finally time to be done with them! It'll be so weird to eat something and not have to run to the bathroom right after to make sure there's nothing stuck in my brackets or anything. And life without raw cheeks?! Oh the excitement of that alone! I can't wait!

I've got the itch to go back to school, but I have NO clue what for. :( And really, it's dumb to even think of going back this semester with being due at the end of October.

Pregnancy wise, everything is going great. My biggest complaint so far has been the heat. I just can't get cool enough. Don't know what's up with that.. didn't go through it with Ember. Still feel 100% that it's a boy. Have names picked out.. my mom actually figured the name out, too. I was surprised she was able to! But, I did say I would tell her if she figured it out. Only took about 40-50 tries to get it though. haha! She kept pestering me about the name (And Ember too, because she knows it but won't tell anyone. She just says "T". hahaha!) because she wants to start embroidering some things with the name on it. I told her even if she knew the name, it's pointless because the spelling depends on the gender! lol. But now that she knows, she hasn't been pestering me about it.

We've been meeting with the midwife on a regular basis since 17 weeks. Our midwife is amazing and I'm so excited to be working with her! My next appointment is 9/7 (at 32 weeks), then 34 weeks, then 36 weeks starts the weekly visits. This is all coming together and it's going so fast now!

I think, though, the biggest news in our house, is that Brian graduated on Saturday. He received his Master of Science in Oriental Medicine degree! All we're doing now is waiting for the license to come (can take up to 3 months) and he is a Licensed Acupuncturist! I can't even express to HIM how proud of him I am! We did it! 3 years in the making. It's been a long road, but worth every step of the way. He's so happy with his career path and he just exudes excitement whenever he talks about it. He definitely found his path! The graduation ceremony was long, but not too long. Just about 2 hours. Maybe a little longer. Ember did great during it. Of course I had some tricks up my sleeve that I pulled out, but they worked and kept her mostly quiet. Can't expect a 32 month old to sit still and understand the concept of whispering, for 2+ hours though!

Ember is amazing, as always. We've moved her bed back into our room so that we can transition her (yet again) to her bed. That has been going very well. She knows she has to fall asleep in her bed, and she asks before she climbs up into our bed with us. It's nice having that little bit of extra room, especially with my expanding belly! I am a little concerned about how it's going to be on Thursday night. Her and Brian are in Las Vegas until then, and the two of them are sharing a bed while out there. I'm hoping that 4 nights won't be long enough to get her back into the habit of sleeping next to someone. We'll see though. I miss them like crazy, but I"m glad the two of them are getting this daddy/daughter time before T comes. Ember has been *so* patient these last 3 years with Brian being in school. And he's been sending me pictures and it looks like she's having a blast, so that makes it worth it. I'm enjoying my break, but miss them like crazy.

Such is life.
