o.k., so, as it turns out, I've been approaching futurism all wrong. I should've taken the short course, and not approached it from the world of ideas, but rather from popular culture. Today, I watched Stargate Atlantis, which contained many of the futurist ideas from blogs previous, specifically that there was a race of AI creatures, which took the form of their creators, which had violence built into their 'base code', they wanted to remove this so that they could 'transcend'.
