O.k., as much as I would love to be the once-Schaefferian creature who clearly 'knew it when I saw it' e.g. line of despair, I'm beyond the binary, the line is gone, and I'm wandering through an acid trip where I can't be sure of what 'is' and how to tell, and what it means to be 'is

Hi! How are you? What is going on?

I too wonder about the XY female and other "anomalies" that occur. Sometimes it doesn't seem that far from people who are XY and feel like they are female although are phenotypically male. Maybe the genes on the Y chromosome are not being expressed at 100%. I think there is much more of a gray area than people readily admit.

There is quite a bit of arrogance when it comes to Christians (especially reformed ones?) having the right answer. (Can't say I haven't been guilty of it). I think people are much more comfortable to make judgments that put them clearly on what they think to be the correct side, rather than hover in a grayish area that ultimately places our dependence for knowing wrong/right on God and His mercy. (That probably doesn't provide much of a compelling answer either, I suppose.) Sometimes I even think the "right" is in the gray fuzzy area, not the black or white...

I wonder if we don't get much exposure to conversation about the grays because of the southern context?

It's weird how the challenging questions are threatening to Christians. Like God is in need of defense from us.

Oh well.
