Hiatus - and Sherlock

Jun 29, 2012 18:52

I've been wondering why BBC!Sherlock's "The Great Game" is called that. Any thoughts?

Oh, and while I'm at it - I'm am more or less on hiatus from LJ and fanfiction. I don't know yet when I'll be back, but I guess it will be some time. I'm planning to come back someday, though!

I think because Sherlock and Moriarty are playing a game. That's the language used throughout.

(Also, because I think it would interest you, and because I assume you missed it -- the mods at bbcsherlock HAVE BEEN SACKED!!!!!!!!!!! :-D )

Agreed; and also perhaps a reference to "the game" Sherlockians have been playing for a good long while now?

Hmm, I considered the Sherlockian Great Game also - but I can't find any connection to the episode itself, can you?

Anyway, as I replied to goldvermilion87, the disambiguation of "The Great Game" is rather interesting... I was wondering whether there had been any statement from the writers or directors of Sherlock as to that subject...

Not the episode itself, but just in general...there's "the game's afoot" in the stories, and the updated version "the game is on" in Sherlock.

Not run across any such statements...nor has goldvermilion, judging from her comment, and she follows Sherlock-related news closely ;)

Don't worry, I firmly plan on being back. :) I am not sure exactly when that will be. Probably around this time next year.
But it's good to know I'll be missed - might make me come back sooner ;).
