CHAPTER 21 - Always
JaeJoong silently wondered just how many ways his stomach could flip and flutter without causing serious internal damage. As his fingers fumbled over the keypad to his door, he was practically vibrating with awareness of Yunho’s presence so close behind him. After a few embarrassing seconds of entering the wrong passcode, twice, JaeJoong finally got the door open and went inside with Yunho following closely behind. In silence, they removed their shoes and JaeJoong disposed of his wet hoody next to the umbrella he should have taken when he left.
“Are you cold? Hungry? I could uh…” JaeJoong trailed off and bit his lip. He felt like an idiot. Why was he so nervous? Oh yeah! Because he had gotten every last single one of him memories back a little over an hour ago and was now picking up with Yunho like the last 11, nearly 12, years, hadn’t separated them. He looked into Yunho’s smiling facing and felt his heart give a loud thump against his rib cage.
“I’m fine, Jae.” Yunho reached out and pushed away a few strands of wet hair from JaeJoong’s forehead. “You should go dry off and get into something warmer. I can wait here.” He finished his sentence by pressing a tiny, closed mouth kiss to the scar on his forehead. JaeJoong felt the shudder that started at the tip of his nose and reached all the way to the soles of his feet. His Yunho. His everything. How could he have not known that Yunho was the one with complete copyright of his heart from the moment they met again 6 months ago?
“O-okay. I’ll be back in a minute.” JaeJoong stuttered before hurrying off to his bedroom. He closed the door behind him and leaned up against it as he surveyed his room. It didn’t look in disarray, perfectly livable in fact, but it wasn’t sexy. He threw a glance at the bedside table where his only-for-the-bedroom reading glasses sat on top of Korean copy of Pride and Prejudice. The red cat eye frames, cute when Ji-Yoo had gotten them as a gag gift for his birthday, now mocked him. Completely forgetting his wet clothes, he hurried to hide away the book and offensive glasses a quickly began to search for anything else that made his room look liked it belonged to a senior citizen instead of a man nearing his 30s.
Much to his horror, he found several more items that needed to be hidden, before he finally was able to settle down and get some dry clothes. He opened his closet and pulled out a pair of skinny jeans with more rips than fabric and a worn soft white t-shirt. He almost took it off before he remembered that it was Yunho in his living room. And the Yunho of their teen years thought that JaeJoong looked good in everything; no exceptions. So, he decided to keep on the shirt, pleased that he could remember that tidbit about his boyfriend.
Boyfriend. The word hit JaeJoong in the face like a truck - pardon the pun - and made him distinctly aware that that wasn’t what he was to Yunho here in the present. Until a day ago, Yunho was still engaged to someone else. JaeJoong looked at his closed bedroom door and pressed his fingers to his lips. The hurt he felt when Yunho had confessed that he was engaged, promptly after the most amazing kiss JaeJoong had ever experienced, was back and it was even more potent because now JaeJoong remembered who they were to each other. He winced and sat on the edge of his bed. He had asked Yunho to come back here for what? Now that he was thinking clearly, he truly hadn’t understood why he had gone straight to Yunho instead of just staying put to process that his brain was finally back to normal. He looked towards the door again. This was weird and Yunho probably thought so too.
“Jae?” There was a small knock at the door following Yunho’s voice. JaeJoong sighed and stood up. It was time to get on with this. He opened the locked door and was almost stunned he was by this new sense of recognition of Yunho. It felt like he had just woken up from a dream.
“I’m sorry. I, uh, got distracted.” JaeJoong replied sheepishly and looked away. Strong, yet gentle fingers gripped JaeJoong’s chin, turning his head. Yunho looked at him and JaeJoong swore it felt like they hadn’t been separated by time.
“I was just worried. I was hoping you weren’t in here trying to figure out a way to tell me that your memories being back was just an Aprils Fool’s joke.” Yunho said with his usual smiling eyes. JaeJoong blinked at him stupidly.
“It isn’t April.” JaeJoong said and Yunho’s face broke into a slow and painfully sexy smile.
“Thank goodness it’s not, love.” He reached down and took JaeJoong’s hand in his own. “Ready to talk?” He asked and JaeJoong could only nod. His hand in Yunho’s was so right. No wonder he had been single up until now. No one’s hands, not even Changmin’s, had made his heart feel like it was just one blood vessel away from making a swift exit out of his chest.
As if it were Yunho’s home and not his, JaeJoong allowed himself to be led from his room and into the living room. He and Yunho sat on the couch, knees pressed against the others. Sadly, Yunho let my hand go. I sighed and folded both of my hands in my lap.
“So, we need to talk.” JaeJoong began. He finally found it in him to meet Yunho’s gaze straight on. The other man nodded.
“Yes, we do. Do you want to start, or should I?” Yunho asked and JaeJoong shrugged.
“I guess I can. I mean, there really isn’t a lot to say since we’re not both reading from the same book and you don’t have worry about telling me things that I’m not ready for. As selfish as it may sound, I want to know why you chose Hyun Gi. And I also need to know if things are truly finished between you two.” JaeJoong bit down his bottom lip, unable to pushed down the anxiousness he felt. Yunho let out a long sigh and leaned back on the couch.
“Hyun Gi and I met about 3 months after I stopped looking for you. I was finishing up my residency and he was in the middle of studying for the bar exam. It wasn’t a romantic first meeting and I was still consumed with thoughts of you, but he had been the first person to remind me that life was still out there even when I was dead set on ignoring it. Our ambitious attitudes towards are careers and goals helped keep things interesting and he was an easy companion.” JaeJoong nodded to show he was listening as Yunho spoke. On the inside he was kicking himself for asking, but he needed to know.
“So, you love him.” JaeJoong said and Yunho nodded.
“I did love him. I do love him. But I am not in love with him. I thought that I was, but I never truly gave myself a chance to say goodbye to you and to us as a couple, so that always hung over me in my relationship with him. And when you showed up again and couldn’t remember anything, I thought for sure this would finally be my chance to mourn us and what we could have had if things had turned out differently. But it wasn’t and I couldn’t stay away from you. I should have told Hyun earlier and I definitely should have given you the choice to put distance between us. It’s all a lot easier said and done, but I won’t make excuses.” Yunho explained with the straightforwardness of a man much older than 28. JaeJoong could feel pride swell inside of him. This was the man he knew Yunho was going to be and it hurt so much that he hadn’t been to watch that growth.
“And so, you ended things with him…because of me?” JaeJoong asked and squeezed his eyes shut. He wasn’t a teenager! He wasn’t unsure of himself and he damn sure didn’t work to seek approval anymore. But Yunho’s opinions, his idolization of JaeJoong, had always been so important to him and years of broken moments hadn’t changed that. He still wanted to be the center of Jung Yunho’s orbit. As if he could read JaeJoong’s thoughts, Yunho leaned in gently cupped the back of JaeJoong’s neck. He pulled him closer so that they could feel the others breath on their faces.
“Not because of. It was for you. I’ve loved you since the night you slept over at my house, maybe a little bit before then. And I loved you even when I wasn’t sure it was you when we met again at 17. And I felt that love push its way from the not so deep recesses of my heart to find you again. I’ve never loved anyone the way I love you JaeJoong. I think I was a fool for trying.” Yunho’s words were like poetry. They were perfect and neat and wrapped around JaeJoong like the arms of familiar friend. The wetness on his cheek surprised him for a moment before he realized he was crying. He quickly swiped it away and sniffled.
“You deserved to look for love, Yunho. You had no clue where I was. I wouldn’t have expected to wait your whole life to share your love with someone.” JaeJoong assured him and Yunho just shook his head. His fingers loosened on JaeJoong’s neck, but he didn’t let go.
“I didn’t expect to live like a priest for the rest of my life, but I should have known better to try and push away my feelings for you without addressing them out in the open. I pretended like I hadn’t been on the verge of losing my mind when I couldn’t find you. I behaved as if you weren’t the best parts of my life. It was silly to think that I could forget you especially when we hadn’t even had the chance to have the lives that we had planned with each other.” Yunho pressed his forehead to JaeJoong’s. JaeJoong sighed and closed his eyes. A memory, now his favorite, came back to him.
“You’re so stupid. How could you propose at 17? That was a lot more illegal then than it is now, thank God.” JaeJoong teased and Yunho chuckled.
“Well you know how bad I was at math. I’m sure that had something to do with it. You said yes though, so what was your excuse?” Yunho asked and JaeJoong chuckled.
“I had a thing for dorks and luckily for you, I still do.” As JaeJoong spoke, he hadn’t noticed that he and Yunho had drawn closer. They were now so close the tips of their noses were touching. JaeJoong watched Yunho as Yunho watched his mouth.
“I’m your dork.” Yunho said as his fingers on JaeJoong’s neck applied pressure. JaeJoong scooted closer and fisted the fabric of Yunho’s sweater as he wished it was gone. The rain outside was falling heavy again and the thunder was booming. But the lightening, the electric energy was right here in JaeJoong’s living room.
“Yes…you’re my dork.” JaeJoong couldn’t believe that this was happening. That Yunho was right here. Available and all his for the taking. A shiver ran down JaeJoong’s spine when Yunho tugged him in bit JaeJoong’s lower lip. JaeJoong moaned, suddenly feeling feverish.
“Jae?” Yunho’s voice, low and husky and too fucking sexy, broke through JaeJoong’s haze.
“Yeah?” He was whispering, but he didn’t know why. The hand Yunho was using to hold JaeJoong’s neck was now daftly working the skin at the top of JaeJoong’s low cut jeans.
“I don’t want to imply that talking to you is not pleasing. But on account of a lot of lost time and too much distance, I think we should start making some new memories. One’s we clearly hadn’t been horny enough to do when were teenagers.” Yunho’s words were melting like ice cream over JaeJoong as he could only focus on the trail of fire Yunho was leaving behind with his touch.
“We were definitely horny enough. Just poorly misinformed about the actual amount of time we had together.” JaeJoong replied, surprised he had enough blood left in his brain to form any coherent thoughts. Either that or his penis was now a medical school graduate.
“Well since we can’t tell the future, there’s no way to actually know how much time we have so why don’t you show me where your bed is?” Yunho’s voice was almost a growl now and JaeJoong knew once he stood up, he was going to be giving Yunho a big eye full of his hard on.
“Since we’re both on the same page about time and all that, do you think we’ll have just enough to do all the things it looks like you’re thinking about?” JaeJoong rushed his words as his heart rate sped up. Yunho stood first and JaeJoong’s mouth filled with almost too much spit to swallow. Yunho’s bulge was impressive and currently way too covered up in JaeJoong’s opinion. He pulled JaeJoong to his feet and yanked him in close enough so that their bulges were pressed against each other. JaeJoong groaned and dropped his head forward onto Yunho’s shoulder.
“Bed. Now.” Yunho was growling again and if he said anything else to JaeJoong in that tone of voice, JaeJoong knew he was going to come in his pants. Not wanting to chance it, he turned and started to lead them back down the hall and up the short stair case that took them to the half level of bedrooms. He pushed the door to his room open and had only a moment shut it before he was shoved up against it, face first. Yunho stood behind him, his hands on either side JaeJoong’s head as he gripped the door frame. JaeJoong was practically writhing with need. Yunho was gentle and perfectly polite, but the hints of him being a bossy and sadistic lover when they were teens were now full-blown pictures of a man who liked being in control. JaeJoong smirked to himself. He was fine with that, but Yunho was in for a surprise of his own.
“So is this as far as we’re going or…” JaeJoong trailed off sassily but was immediately silenced when Yunho thrusted his thick bulge against JaeJoong’s ass.
“I’m going to take my time and you’re going to like every minute of it. Clear?” Yunho voice was hot in JaeJoong’s ear and it made JaeJoong want to melt out of his clothes. Had he ever wanted to have sex this badly? Turning around he came face to face with Yunho’s heated stare. He reached up and grabbed Yunho’s face and yanked it close to his in a savage, harsh kiss. Yunho moaned and his hands immediately found their way to JaeJoong’s ass. He gripped them and squeezed them. JaeJoong moaned and pushed his hips into Yunho’s.
“Yunho that feels so good.” JaeJoong managed to say between moans. Yunho pulled away one of his hands before bringing it back down on JaeJoong’s ass with a smack. JaeJoong nearly cried from the pleasure. Hurriedly, he reached between them and began to undo Yunho’s pants before working open his own. Yunho pushed his hand out of the way and grabbed JaeJoong’s dick, cupping him roughly through his pants.
“Do you know how long I’ve been waiting to get this back in my mouth? How badly I’ve wanted to choke it down until you’re coming so hard you feel boneless? You don’t have the slightest clue, do you?” Yunho’s words were hot and dirty and JaeJoong knew that if Yunho didn’t act on it right now, he was going to make mess in his jeans instead of in Yunho’s mouth.
“Yunho,” He moaned softly as Yunho finally made contact with the bare skin of his dick. “Yunho please put me in your mouth. Please, please, please.” JaeJoong begged as he tried and failed to keep his thoughts focused. Without even remembering how it happened, JaeJoong was now laying flat on his bed with his jeans down around his ankles. He looked up at Yunho who was staring down at him like a starving man who’s just found a buffet. He watched as Yunho worked his own long and hard dick as he stared down at him. Yunho licked his lips.
“Scoot up to the top of the bed and hold on to the headboard.” Yunho directed and JaeJoong, like a good puppet, obeyed without thinking. Yunho made quick work of taking off the rest of his clothes before tugging JaeJoong’s jeans off his ankles and throwing them to the floor. He crawled onto the bed in between JaeJoong’s and lifted JaeJoong’s legs so each one was resting on either of Yunho’s shoulders. JaeJoong felt shy for being so open and exposed, but it quickly fell away when Yunho looked at him like he was experiencing the heat of the sun for the first time.
He leaned forward causing JaeJoong’s to bend back. When they were finally face to face again, JaeJoong’s knees were pressed tight to his chest. Yunho nibbled at JaeJoong’s lips playfully and JaeJoong groaned.
“Suck my fucking dick, Yunho!” He shouted surprising even himself. Yunho, not surprised at all, chuckled and without warning leaned down enough to take JaeJoong’s dick down his throat. Once, twice, three damn times the tip of his dick hit the very back of Yunho’s throat. JaeJoong wanted to die because nothing had ever felt this good and he had never ever felt this close to climaxing after just a few moments. The reality of his approaching orgasm became too loud to ignore. He reached between his legs and tugged on Yunho’s hair, trying to pull him off.
“Yun. Yun, I’m going to come.” Yunho looked up him through half lidded eyes before letting it slide out of his mouth with a naughty sounding ‘pop’.
“Good. I’m going to drink every last bit. I won’t miss a drop.” Without another word, he stretched his lips over the head once again and sucked as hard as he could. JaeJoong’s grip got tighter in his hair and he was now thrusting harder into Yunho’s mouth. He felt his balls pull up tight and without his permission, he shot harder than he had in his entire life. He closed his eyes and went completely boneless. He was so far gone, that he didn’t even notice when Yunho had moved to lay next to him. JaeJoong looked at him lazily. Gosh, he felt great!
“But what about you?” He asked as he looked down expecting to find Yunho still hard and wanting. But instead, his dick lay soft and spent against this flat stomach.
“As soon as you came, I did too. You’ve got no idea how good you look in the middle of an orgasm.” Yunho said and kissed JaeJoong on the cheek. JaeJoong groaned and covered his face.
“You’re embarrassing.” He said through breaks in his laughter. Yunho laughed and snuggled up against him.
“It’s just love, Jae. I love you.” Yunho soft voice and words broke the humorous mood and replaced it with one more serious. JaeJoong reached out and stroked Yunho’s face. Yunho leaned into the touch and closed his eyes.
“I love you too. And I’m sorry I took so long to find you again.” JaeJoong seriously felt remorseful. This man was always his to be had and JaeJoong had spent so much time wondering why things never worked out with anyone else. It was never meant to be. Yunho opened his eyes and smiled.
“Just don’t go again. Okay?” JaeJoong nodded in response.
“Okay.” They leaned into each other and kissed slowly and not at all rushed. They kissed slowly for a while until they heard the welcome chime come from the front door. JaeJoong blinked suddenly remembering that Ji-Yoo had said she’d be coming home after having drinks with her coworkers.
“Who’s- ”
“Oppa, I hope you’re not in here being sad. I brought you your favorite soup and bottle of wine-” Just before the door swung open, JaeJoong kicked Yunho off of the bed and onto the floor and quickly covered himself with the blanket he kept at the foot of the bed. Ji-Yoo, still in her rain coat, stared at him with wide and confused eyes. JaeJoong smiled casually.
“Ji! Back so early?” JaeJoong could hear how dumb he sounded but the train had already left the station so there was nothing to be done about it. Ji Yoo raised her eyebrows at him before gesturing to the clock on his bedside table.
“It’s almost one in the morning, Oppa. I work tomorrow. What are you doing?” She asked before her eyes found his discarded jeans laying on top of Yunho’s crumbled clothes. Awareness slowly dawned on her face. She closed her eyes and turned back around.
“Everyone pleased get dressed and come to the kitchen.” And like queen finished giving her most important order, Ji-Yoo left the room and shut the door behind her. After a few seconds of silence, Yunho burst into laughter. JaeJoong glared down at him from his spot on the bed.
“What is so damned funny?” He asked even though he was having a hard time keep a straight face. Yunho shook his head.
“You! I forgot that you were such an awesome striker in soccer. That was one hell of kick.” JaeJoong flushed at the admiration in Yunho’s voice and was about to say something else when Ji-Yoo’s voice shouted out from the kitchen.
“You guys have 5 minutes before I come back in there! I need to know what’s going on right now.” JaeJoong and Yunho looked at each other and laughed again. He couldn’t be any happier in this moment if he tried. He reached down caressed Yunho’s face.
He was never going to leave Jung Yunho’s side again.
