Disclaimer: The plot is not mine. The idea is based off a drama that I watched. I just liked the ideas and concept of it therefore I decided to write a Yunjae version of it. Although I will not be following most of what the dramas plot is. I will be changing many things making this story different, as well as the ending will be my own since I won't follow the drama's ending!

Note: Thank you changminXmc from Sunset Avenue for the amazing poster :)

Summary: Jaejoong and Yunho are lovers who met through one of Yunho’s business trips. While Jaejoong lives in Busan, Yunho lives in Seoul and yet the distance isn’t what seems to be an obstacle in their love. Although both are too in love, things turn rocky when some of their promises are forced to be broken and Jaejoong is left with a shattered heart yet a strong sense of love. What happens when they must face reality and those around them. When there are hard options to choose from and beliefs to follow. Will they both fight for one another? Or will they take different roads.

Two men stood in the center of a luxurious meeting room shaking hands. Judging by the grin apparent on both their handsome faces they had just closed an important deal between them.

“It was nice dealing business with you Yunho,” stated the taller of the two men.

“My thoughts exactly” replied Yunho as he patted the other on the shoulder. “That was a most informative meeting.”

“Exactly what your father wanted to be discussed right Yunho?” asked Siwon as he made to the door Yunho following shortly.

“Yeah everything was covered. He’ll be glad to know we closed the deal between both our companies.”

As Yunho made to go out the room, he was stopped by Siwon who had grabbed his arm preventing him from going any further.

“How’s your family been doing?”

Out of that simple question Yunho could hear the change of tone the other spoke with which had gone from business to casual. It was only normal for Siwon to be curious about the other’s family as he had been best friends with his older brother Yoochun and had slept countless of times at the Jungs’ household.

“They’re fine.” Replied Yunho with a smile.

“And Yoochun?” inquired Siwon.

“Happy as anyone with a family he loves can be. When he’s not at the office there’s nothing that can make him be apart from his daughter and wife.” He responded.

“Damn lucky bastard,” chuckled Siwon “never seemed the family type. We always thought I’d be the first to settle down and while I can’t seem to find anyone suitable for me he already has a kid. How old is she now?”

“Sunhee is seven. But takes after Junsu more than she does Yoochun.”

“Well that’s a good thing. Yoochun can be a little immature at times.” Said Siwon.

“Hahaha sometimes I think Junsu has too much of a hold on him. He listens to everything the other says.” Scoffed Yunho.

“Like you don’t listen to Jaejoong”  responded Siwon teasingly. Looking at Yunho’s red face he couldn’t help but start laughing.

“It’s different!”

“What’s the difference?”

“Jaejoong’s irresistible,” muttered Yunho silently but still loud enough to be heard.

“Damn Yunho and you’re complaining about Junsu having a hold on Yoochun” stated Siwon still laughing at the other.

Yunho gave a grunt as a response making the other quiet down his laughter, but keep the grin on his face as he knew Yunho didn’t like being teased.

They walked down the hall which was full of some of the business men Yunho recognized from the earlier meeting. He gave a nod in acknowledgement to those who caught his eye but continued his way with Siwon as he did not intend to hold any particular conversation with anyone without the name Jaejoong.

Siwon stopped shortly at the entrance of his office, pausing before entering it to ask Yunho if he had perhaps wanted to join the other for some small chat at some café.

“Nah I told Jaejoong I’d meet him after the meeting. I haven’t seen him since I arrived.”

“Pshhh and you’re complaining of Yoochun.” Scoffed the other “You know you owe me one.”

Yunho looked at Siwon curiously pondering over what exactly he “owed” the other.

“For introducing you to Jaejoong! If it weren’t for me you would never have met.” Stated Siwon saying the last part a bit more silently as to not be overheard by the other people around.

“Yeah thanks for reminding. I also have to beat the crap out of you for trying to get in his pants that time we met.”

“Hey Hey Hey!” exclaimed Siwon bringing his hands up “I’m innocent blame the alcohol!”

“The alcohol  or you for not being able to drink at least three shots?”

“Let it go man. Why can’t you just let it go…It’s a thing of that past that even Jaejoong forgave me for.”

Yunho looked at Siwon wondering how the hell this man was who had led him to a piece of perfection. Not being able to come up with a solid answer he just shook his head in disbelief. Looking at the clock next to Siwon’s head he knew he didn’t want to stay any longer listening to the other man ranting on and on about things when he could have been in heaven by now.

“I got to go Siwon.” Said Yunho taking a step back in retreat.

“Yeah can’t make Jaejoong wait can we?”

“Yeah whatever” was the last thing he said before turning around and heading towards the elevators.

“Yah Jung you better make time for that coffee meeting while you’re staying here.” Called Siwon out, his tone back to a business one.

*****
Once outside the large building he was greeted by the enthusiastic valet who had been there earlier that morning.

“Mr. Jung shall I -”

“No” interrupted Yunho as he could see the worker had been about stand.  “I’m going to take a short walk and will be back shortly.”

As he took each step farther away from the company Yunho could feel the heavy weight of work being lifted off of him. He was tired that much was a fact and he couldn’t feel that maybe he was overworking himself a little too much. Of course this was what having Jung as his surname was all about. It was about making sacrifices for the good of the others, and if working more meant that his older brother would spend more time at home with his family and his younger brother would have more time to prepare himself as a businessman then he was fine with it all. Because on the plus side working more meant more trips to Busan.

He couldn’t hide the smile that he could feel was probably on his face. That certain dreamy smile that could give him away to any passerby who looked at him. He was in love. And each time he came back to Busan he couldn’t help but fall deeper for that person who had captured his heart those two years ago.

He looked down as he felt himself step on something that was definitely not concrete, only to look up and see that he had arrived at the small park in Busan that was located a couple of streets away from the company’s location. The feeling of contentment took over him as he looked ahead at his surroundings, happy that his feet had led him back to this place which held many special memories for him.

The park was empty and yet the familiarity of it made him feel anything but alone. This was the place which held many memories for him and his Jae.

He looked at the lone bench as he seemed to recall their first date. And how all they had done was sit down and talk about each other until they had felt as if they had known each other all their lives.

The slide where they had shared their first kiss on one of their trips back to that same park. They had been dating for a week and yet both were too nervous to take the first step until he had made Jae sit at the end of the slide and he had leaned down only to capture the other’s lips against his…

The swings.

Yunho looked at the swings and the warm memory which had sealed his fate came back to him.

The swings. There were two. And when he had made Jaejoong sit on one he had kneeled in front of his lover to propose.

This was the place in which Jaejoong and he had created many fine memories together. And as he looked around him once more he couldn’t help but feel that he was finally back where he belonged. He had returned to his Jaejoong.
*****
It was exactly 1:05 p.m.

Kim Jaejoong was anything but happy. In fact he was anxious.

As he looked at his phone for the hundredth time that day, and 3rd in those first few minutes of the new hour, he couldn’t help but get annoyed at the lack of missed calls his phone failed to show him.

He looked around the small apartment of his that while in other times would seem as warm and comforting, now made him feel suffocated.

I need to get out…

The need for fresh air beat his resolution to stay put and he grabbed his jacket and phone before heading out the door.

Once outside he was faced with the question of where he should go. He let his feet lead the way as he walked without a destination, only to be brought upon the one place he had not visited in a while. Not since Yunho had left.

He and Yunho had always taken a stroll there just to spend time in the presence of the other. It was their own personal sanctuary a place where they were able to get away from reality if at least for a couple of minutes. They would be a part of the world other’s lived in but in the eyes of everyone else they would seem as a perfect happy couple, not one for whose time was limited as Yunho’s departure would be inevitable sooner or  later.

When he walked with Yunho alongside him, he liked to believe that the other would not leave him once more. And that they would stay together forever.

Flashback

“Yun…” said the smaller male of the two as he leaned his head on the other’s shoulder as they continued walking.

“Yes Jae?” asked Yunho.

“What do you think other’s see us as?” continued Jaejoong sighing.

“What do you mean baby?” Yunho stopped walking to face his lover. “When other’s look at us…you know what they see? They look at two people who are very very in love with each other love.” He finished placing a chaste kiss on the other’s lips.

“Hmmm” smiled Jaejoong as he caressed Yunho’s face with his palm. “That’s good.”

“Oh Joongie.” Chuckled Yunho as he leaned in to the other’s caress. “You know what else they might see us as…”

“What?” asked Jaejoong leaning in more towards his lover.

“Happily married couple.” Was the other’s answer.

“Then I guess for today I’ll have to be your spouse.”

“I’d love that Mrs. Jung” finished Yunho not before placing a kiss on the other’s cheek.

End of flashback

He looked around the place once more. Sighing he took a step forward not willing himself to turn around and head somewhere else. He wanted to take a look around and hopefully next time he could come back with better company.

*****
It was as if they were connected by some strong force.
Both taking small steps forward and remembering those memories from the past that kept them alive and happy to that day.

Looking ahead of them. That was when they saw each other. And that smile that grazed both their faces were ones they each knew too well.

Jaejoong

Yunho

It was true no matter how far apart they were the presence of the other would never go unnoticed by them. They were too in love. And the other would always be in front of them with each step they took. Always playing an important part of their future…
