"What's wrong?" Yunho asked, biting his bottom lip as he crossed his arms. Jaejoong just leaned against the wall outside the cafe and looked at Yunho as if he should know.
"You like her, don't you?" Jaejoong whispered, his fingers fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. Yunho scoffed, looked to his right and shook his head, then looked back at Jaejoong.
"What the hell gave you that idea?" Yunho questioned, his features now reflecting his growing anger.
"You were staring at her..." Jaejoong replied, looking at Yunho with sad eyes.
"I can't look at other people now or you'll get jealous? Is that it?" Yunho argued, his hands moving to rest on his hips.
"That wasn't looking...it was staring...and I've never seen you look at me that way. So...I can only assume that you like her..." Jaejoong said, moving away from the wall so he could stand up straight.
"Well you're wrong. We've been over this, Boo..." Yunho said softly, pulling Jaejoong into a gentle embrace. "You're the only one for me...I told you she's just a friend. I can't love her the way I love you..."
"But you can love her?" Jaejoong asked, pulling away from Yunho. Sighing, Yunho just looked at Jaejoong as if he didn't know what else to say.
"Jaejoong..."
"Just answer me..."
"I don't-"
"So you can?"
"Why are you pressing this?"
"Because I want to know...I think I deserve to know if you can love someone else or not..."
"What do you want me to say, Jaejoong? How do I know that you won't fall in love with someone else?"
"We're not talking about me."
"We'll we're not really talking about me, anymore, are we?" Yunho sighed again, grabbing Jaejoong by the shoulders tightly. Jaejoong forced himself to look away, tears forming in his eyes even as he tried to hold them back.
"Forget it. Let's just go back insi-"
"No! Damnit, Jaejoong look at me!" Yunho demanded. When Jaejoong still didn't look at him, Yunho grabbed either side of Jaejoong's face and forced their eyes to lock.
"Yunho, you're hurting me!" Jaejoong said, struggling to pull away.
"Good! If that's what it takes to get it through to you that you're the only one I love...fine!" Yunho argued, releasing his hold on Jaejoong's face as he grabbed his flailing hands and pinned them behind his back.
"Just forget it! I know the truth anyway!" Jaejoong cried, turning his face away from Yunho once again.
"What do you mean you know the truth?" Yunho laughed in disbelief, finally letting Jaejoong free of his hold. "Now you're not even listening to what I tell you anymore...you're just drawing your own conclusions. This isn't fair, Jaejoong...you can't ask me a question like that without asking the same of yourself..." Jaejoong just stood there in silence, tears falling as he covered his face with his hands.
"I just...I love you so much. I don't want to lose you, Yunho..." Jaejoong whispered from behind his hands. "I don't know what I would do. I can't even begin to imagine how my life would be if you never came into it. I see the way you look at her...and it hurts...and you're right...it probably shouldn't. But it hurts...and I know that some part of you wants to see how it would be if-"
"Jaejoong, stop it!" Yunho exclaimed, pulling Jaejoong back into his arms. This time, he allowed Yunho to hold him. "I love you. I can't..." Yunho began, but thought about what to say as he hugged Jaejoong tighter against him. "Love isn't something you can put into words...you can't diagram it, paint it, sing it, act it out, write it down...there's just no way. Love is supposed to be universal to the point where two individuals like us share it, understand it, and believe in it." Jaejoong was now crying nonstop into Yunho's chest as he listened. Suddenly, Junsu poked his head out of the cafe and looked around, spotting both Yunho and Jaejoong.
"Ready, guys?" Yunho whispered, then everyone made sounds of confirmation. Just then, one single spotlight came on in the front of the stage. Yunho's hand brushed against Jaejoong's as he walked ahead of everyone. Yunho began his lead-in to the song as he stepped into the spotlight. As soon as he became visible, the crowd exploded into another fit of screaming and cheers. Yoochun quickly wiped a tear from his face as he stepped up next to Yunho in the spotlight and began his lead-in. Fans went completely crazy, even as Yoochun spoke and could barely hear himself. When Yoochun finally finished, he and Yunho took a few steps to the side as the rest of their bandmates stepped into the large beam of light.
Dong Bang Shin Gi took their positions next to one another, facing their fans. A few moments passed as they listened to the loud voices of the crowd. Suddenly, the entire stage lit up and the music began. The five of them began to sing, doing their occasional trademark hand gestures for emphases and dramatics. Flowers were thrown onto the stage, stuffed animals, and even jewelry. Jaejoong smiled as he stared out at the masses of crying girls and thought to himself as he sang. Yunho was his, and none of these girls could have him. When the song ended, Dong Bang Shin Gi bowed their heads and held their microphones against their chests. Almost immediately after the first song ended, a new song began. Dong Bang Shin Gi then split up and covered the stage equally between the five of them.
Junsu moved to the front of the stage and began singing his verse. The other four members did their accompanying dance behind Junsu, and the screaming seemed to only get louder. When Junsu had finished, Yoochun stepped forward and Junsu stepped back. Yunho glanced over at Jaejoong and smiled. Jaejoong looked at Yunho and returned the smile, then Yoochun finished his verse. Yunho took his cue and moved forward as Yoochun backed up. Lights flashed in the audience, and Yunho began to sing. Yoochun heard a loud clattering sound somehwere above where he and the other four were standing on the stage. He looked up, but tried not to give any hints to danger, for fear it might be nothing more than a light moving around in the rafters. Yunho began the dance he had worked so hard on the past couple of weeks, and the fans continued to cry out their adoration. Yoochun reached over and smacked Junsu on the arm, then pointed upward. Junsu couldn't understand what he was trying to say, but looked up anyway. Before they both were able to see it happen, a light fixture above the front of the stage creaked and began to fall from it's attachment on a large metal beam.
"Yunho!" Yoochun screamed, but Yunho was unable to hear him due to the loud music and the even louder fans. Jaejoong and Changmin looked around, then looked upward as they finally heard the noise themselves.
"Oh my...Yunho...Yunho!" Jaejoong screamed, darting forward in an attempt to save his lover from what he just knew would be fatal. Before Jaejoong came within inches of him, the light fell heavily downward and hit Yunho directly in the back of the head. The music stopped, and some fans began to make sounds of terror as they watched what happened. The light clamored to the floor and shattered, sparks and flames shooting out from around it as it landed. Yunho had collapsed onto the hardened steel floor below, his microphone having rolled offstage after he dropped it. Jaejoong's eyes grew wide and he covered his mouth in disbelief. Junsu and Yoochun began to walk up to Yunho almost in slow motion. Changmin stayed frozen in his place, holding his microphone loosely in his hand. Jaejoong dropped his microphone and threw off his headset as he darted toward Yunho. Junsu tried to reach out and stop his bandmate, but Jaejoong dodged the attempt and landed on his knees at Yunho's side.
"Yunho...no...please no...you can't..." Jaejoong cried, trying to lift Yunho into his arms. A couple stage officials ran up to Yunho and pushed Jaejoong back. Unable to believe what he saw, Jaejoong just stared at Yunho with tears streaking his face and still pouring from his already reddened eyes.
