“Where are we going?” Jaejoong hissed as Yunho pushed him forward, leading him out of the club they were in. They made their way out into the alley, but before they reached the main street, Yunho grabbed him and pushed him up against the wall. Jaejoong could feel a slight squeeze to his butt, and he was glad for the darkness so that the other man couldn’t see the blush that had crept across his cheeks.
They’d both had their own fair share of drinks, but based off the way Yunho was behaving, Jaejoong was sure that Yunho had drunk more than him. Yunho chuckled then kissed Jaejoong, the kiss slightly messy but passionate nonetheless. Forgetting his usual behavior, Jaejoong pulled Yunho closer, desperate for more.
Yunho tasted like cigarettes and vodka, and Jaejoong shuddered when Yunho pressed up against him. They were behaving like reckless teenagers, but Jaejoong had never felt so alive in so many years. As Yunho tipped his head slightly to the side, Jaejoong took advantage of the opportunity to break their kiss so that he could begin to suck at Yunho’s neck.
Yunho moaned softly, and he gripped Jaejoong a little tighter as soon as the latter’s teeth had grazed his skin. “Fuck, Jaejoong -“
“Found them!”
Before either man could comprehend the sound, there were several bright camera flashes. Jaejoong quickly pushed Yunho away, and when he turned, several men armed with cameras continued to take pictures of them.
“You two having fun?” One of the men shouted, his voice filled with amusement.
“Did we interrupt something?”
“Smile for the camera!”
Jaejoong rolled his eyes at the men, grabbed Yunho’s hand and then pulled him back in the direction of the club. As soon as they were safely back inside, they stood awkwardly in front of one another, unsure of what to say.
“What assholes,” Jaejoong muttered as he ran a hand through his hair. “Jesus Christ, I swear, to think it’s probably only going to get worse.”
“Get worse?” Yunho questioned, “How?”
Jaejoong turned his head and looked at Yunho. “Don’t you have that movie coming out in a couple of days? The one you filmed a long time ago but got stuck in its post-production stages? I heard it’s good from the critics -“
Yunho shook his head. “It’s nothing, just hearsay, and you’re biased too, so you probably only read good reviews. The movie’s such a small production, it didn’t even get a huge premiere or anything…”
“I’m sorry I wasn’t able to go to the -“
He took a step closer to Jaejoong and shot him another one of his radiant smiles. “It’s fine, and thanks anyway for trying to cheer me up.”
“You should have more confidence in yourself,” Jaejoong said as he pulled at Yunho’s jacket and began to lead deeper into a dimly lit corner of the club. “It’s going to be a hit, I’m sure of it.”
“Liar. Stop talking already.”
The older man grinned and snaked his arms around Yunho’s neck. His fingers curled into Yunho’s gelled hair, and Jaejoong purposefully rocked his hips against Yunho’s. “Make me,” he whispered, a teasing smile on his lips.
Yunho chuckled and moved forward, but just as his lips were about to meet Jaejoong’s, he spoke, “You’re really hot for an old man you know.” And just before Jaejoong could snap back, Yunho kissed him and all coherent thoughts were lost.
---
Despite his hangover, Jaejoong showed up to Yoochun’s office ten minutes earlier anyway. Ever since the kiss on the ferris wheel, things were different between him and Yunho, and Yoochun had noticed. He’d texted Jaejoong at around six in the morning, and as soon as the text had come, Jaejoong pretty much knew what Yoochun was going to talk to him about.
Yoochun’s assistant ushered him in, and Jaejoong smiled at her before she went back out. When the door shut, Jaejoong let out a sigh then sat down in front of Yoochun, expecting the worse.
There was a printed screencap from an entertainment blog on the publicist’s desk, and Jaejoong leaned forward so that he could get a better look at it. He picked it up, blushed, and then promptly set the picture back down.
“What the fuck Jaejoong?”
“It’s really not that -“
“That is not classy,” Yoochun said bluntly. He shook his head then pointed at the picture. “Sure, you two look like you popped out of some teenage girl’s yaoi fantasy, but what the fuck Jaejoong? Is this what you want those men on the publication board to see? That you’re -“
“We were just having some fun, okay?” Jaejoong snapped. “Sure, it’s not a good picture, but our faces are blurred and it’s dark, so -“
“I’m pretty sure everyone knows it’s you two,” Yoochun replied. “Seriously, we’re not all idiots Jaejoong. When I suggested that you and Yunho pair up, it was to give you a friendlier image, but right now, I can see that both of you have gotten too friendly -“
“Hey, that’s fucking unfair -“
“Besides, it’s not like Yunho’s career is getting anywhere despite the help we’ve put into it,” Yoochun continued, ignoring Jaejoong. “I’m your friend, but I care about your career too Jaejong. You’ve sacrificed so much to get where you are today, and I’m thinking that maybe -”
Jaejoong rolled his eyes then got out of his seat. “What are you thinking?” he questioned angrily. “I like Yunho, okay? I like him. He’s fun, he’s nice, and he’s -“
“That’s not the issue here,” Yoochun said sharply. “You’re not listening to me, I’m not yet done. Sit down.”
The creative director sat back down, his eyes glaring at Yoochun. “What is it then? What’s the real issue here? If it’s not about me looking like a horny teenager, then what is it?”
“Yunho’s the issue,” Yoochun said plainly. “His agent and I have been noticing the kinds of comments that appear whenever you guys show up together. At first people were supportive of it and reacted well, but after Yunho’s series of bad luck, a lot of people seem to have come to the belief that he’s using you to stay relevant -“
“Well, if you want to set things straight, we are sort of using each other -“
“But people are mostly only bothered by Yunho, and people aren’t interested in Yunho if he’s going to get the image of being some kind of social climber -“
“You and I both know he’s not -“
“Yes, but the thing is, not everyone -“
Jaejoong shook his head and threw his hands up in the air. “So what, from being some kind of nice guy, Yunho’s suddenly become a social climber overnight? I swear, this is some kind of double standard -“
“Yunho has nothing much to his name Jaejoong. Sure, he had some hype, but a lot of it has died. Dating you has helped put his name back in newspapers and magazines, so some people have come to an unfavorable conclusion.”
“Jesus Christ, you woke me up to listen to this joke,” Jaejoong said flatly as he shook his head and began to walk out of his office. “I am not listening to this bullshit, and I refuse to play some kind of noble idiot role in this publicity scheme.”
He turned around and met Yoochun’s gaze. “You’re my friend, and I know that you’re not convinced of this. This is bullshit.”
“Jaejoong…you’re not the only one who has a say in this,” Yoochun said plainly, his eyes softening as he stared at his best friend. “Maybe you don’t want this whole…thing to end, but you don’t know how Yunho feels about this.”
Jaejoong fell silent, and Yoochun took hold of the opportunity to keep speaking.
“You and I both know the kind of sacrifices that people make for their careers. Everyone gives up something just to grab their chances at success,” he said bluntly. “Are you so sure that Yunho won’t make this one to save his?”
“Yunho’s…”
“Talk to him about it. See what he thinks of it all,” Yoochun murmured as he took the picture off his desk and slipped it into a folder. “I know his agent’s talking to him today. If all goes well then I’ll see you two at the New Year party.”
---
Jaejoong had been unable to contact Yunho after leaving Yoochun’s office, so he sat in the company’s boardroom, completely distracted. He watched as people talked about what they had planned for the March issue, but his mind was completely out of the whole thing. Words went in through one ear then out the other, and all Jaejoong really wanted to do was go out and see Yunho already.
“So Jaejoong, do you have anything to comment on?”
He jerked up suddenly, and Jaejoong felt his stomach knot when he realized that Jisu had noticed that he hadn’t been paying attention.
Fuck.
“No, not really…”
“Is that so?” Jisu murmured faintly as she looked through her notes, “It’s unusual for you to not offer your much appreciated criticism.” She glanced up at him, “You don’t have a problem with anything?”
“I think…” Jaejoong trailed off, his mind trying to grasp at some kind of idea, but the longer it took him to think of something, the longer his silence continued.
Jisu hummed disapprovingly then cut in before his silence could last any longer. Her gaze swept across the room and lingered on Jaejoong for a few seconds before she turned her attention elsewhere.
“This meeting is over, we’ll talk about things tomorrow at eight…when all of us are more mentally prepared to talk about this issue,” she said dismissively, making an obvious jab at Jaejoong’s lack of awareness.
People filed out of the room, chatting amongst themselves, but just as Jaejoong had stood up, Jisu spoke.
“I want to see you in my office. We need to talk.”
Jaejoong sighed and walked out, not bothering to muster a reply. The day was turning worse and worse by the second, and it seemed like there was nothing he could do to make it better.
---
“Care to explain your behavior?” Jisu asked as she sat down at her desk and began to fix her things idly. She raised her head and shot Jaejoong a displeased look. “I never thought I’d catch pictures of you acting like some reckless idol star.”
Jaejoong walked across Jisu’s office to look at the large framed picture she had of her first issue as editor-in-chief. “I don’t think my personal life is much of your concern.” He turned his head and met her gaze. “After all, you’ve never cared for me much before.”
“Once it starts interfering with your work, I’m afraid I must take issue with it,” Jisu replied dully. “You do realize you have an image to uphold, right? If you think that you can use your position in this magazine to help out that boy in exchange for -“
“Excuse me?”
Jisu rolled her eyes. “Oh please Jaejoong, I wasn’t born yesterday.” She clasped her hands together and shot him a leveled look. “Out of desperation, some people sleep their way to the top, and I’m well aware of that.”
Jaejoong felt his blood boil. “And you’re accusing me of being one of those people?” He shook his head and laughed, “Or wait, are you saying that I’m one of the people Yunho is sleeping with so that he can make his way to the top?”
“I’m saying that you’re looking like an idiot by having that boy around.”
“So what, just because Yunho’s less successful than I am, I’m not allowed to be seen with him? What is this? Some kind of caste system bullshit?” Jaejoong snapped. “Is that why you’ve gone through so many husbands? You had to go and get a new one because they got old? Everyone knows you go through husbands like they’re clothes -”
“My personal life isn’t any of your concern -“
“But you can butt in mine? How hypocritical of you -“
“The fact of the matter is that I’m the boss here. We’re playing by my rules, and not yours,” Jisu said finally, her gaze harsh. “And if you want to keep working here, I expect you to have more class and better taste,” Jisu said shortly, her tone authoritative and cold. “Cut your ties with Yunho, or else I’ll bring up to the board that you and I are having artistic differences -“
“We’ve always had artistic differences -“
“The difference is I’m not willing to put up with our differences any longer. Sure, you may be talented, and you do have some skill, but image is just as important - maybe even more so. If you want to keep looking like some God damn fool then do so, but I don’t want my magazine’s image being pulled down with yours.”
“This is -“
“This is final,” Jisu said sharply. “If you bring him to the New Year’s party, then be sure that you’ll be starting off the New Year at a different magazine.”
---
“Hyunsoo?”
The young boy looked up from where he was seated on the floor and focused his attention on Jaejoong. “Yes?”
“If Lightning McQueen were blue, would you still like him?”
Hyunsoo’s face turned thoughtful, and after a few seconds of quiet contemplation, he opened his mouth and replied. “But I like him red, why would I want him in a different color?” he asked.
“Maybe he fell into a vat of blue paint,” Jaejoong suggested from his spot on the sofa.
Hyunso blinked. “Why would he fall into a vat of blue paint?”
“I don’t…” Jaejoong trailed off and grabbed a pillow off the sofa. He hugged it tightly and buried his face into it, “I don’t know.”
Chaeyoung came into the room, carrying a tray of cookies, “What kind of question was that Jaejoong?” she asked as she set it down onto the coffee table. “Are you trying to annoy my son?”
Jaejoong reluctantly looked at the older woman and scowled, “And where did those cookies come from? The bakery down the street?”
“I baked them -“
Before Hyunsoo could grab a cookie, Jaejoong pulled the tray away. “Don’t eat them Hyunsoo, they’re poisonous.”
“Just because I gave you uncooked cookies one time, that doesn’t mean I’m a totally incompetent cook!” Chaeyoung protested as she grabbed the tray back from Jaejoong and set it back down. “Ask Hyunsoo…he likes my cookies.”
Jaejoong looked at Hyunsoo, and he smiled in amusement at the sight of the boy looking away from his mother.
“Hyunsoo, go ahead, eat one.” Chaeyoung pressed, “I made them just for you.”
The young boy smiled hesitantly at his mother before he reached out and took a cookie. He took a small nibble, chewed for a few seconds then promptly took a larger bite of the baked treat.
Chaeyoung smiled triumphantly and set her hands on her hips. “What did I tell you?”
“These ones are good, better than last time,” Hyunsoo said cheerfully before he turned back to his video game.
“What do you mean better than last time?”
The actress huffed then sat down next to Jaejoong on the sofa. She nibbled on cookie thoughtfully then turned her attention to the younger man beside her. “So, what were you really trying to figure out from my son?”
Jaejoong huffed and set his chin down onto his pillow. “Apparently the publicity stunt that was supposed to help my career isn’t helping it. In fact, people are worried that it’s ruining it instead…not to mention Jisu’s being a bitch and threatened to fire me over it. After all the things I’ve done, she wants to fire me over a boy,” he said dully.
“So they all want you to break up with him?”
“Yes.”
“Well…” Chaeyoung chewed for a few seconds then replied. “You can stop seeing him. It should be easy. Just lay low for a while. You two can stay friends despite the sort of distance, just call each other and text, maybe even Skype -“
“But I don’t want us to be just friends.”
“What?”
Jaejoong buried his face into Chaeyoung’s sofa pillow. His reply came out muffled, and Chaeyoung laughed. She stroked his back comfortably, “Honey, how does Yunho feel about everything?”
“I don’t know, I haven’t called him,” Jaejoong replied as he took out his phone. He stared at the blank screen and sighed before he turned back to the pillow. “He hasn’t called me either.”
“You should call him.”
Jaejoong sighed. “Fine.” He ran a hand through his hair. “You know, all this really would’ve been much easier if Yunho was more famous. So many idiotic comments and bullshit has been thrown at me today - “
“Jaejoong.”
“What?”
“You like Yunho the way he is now, so why would you want things to be different?”
Jaejoong stared at Chaeyoung, processed her words, and then shook his head and got up off the sofa. “God damn it, don’t twist your son’s words and turn it into some sort of wise philosophical crap -“
“Don’t hate me because I’m wiser than you!” Chaeyoung yelled as Jaejoong exited the room to call Yunho.
He shook his head at her behavior and exited the room to head into the kitchen. Jaejoong pulled out his phone, stared at the screen for a few seconds, and then dialed Yunho’s number.
---
Jaejoong had been waiting outside of the movie theater for five minutes early just so that he could think about what he would say to Yunho. Numerous thoughts had run through his head, and none of them had been good enough. He cursed his inability to be a people person and rested his head against the cool wall of the theater in frustration.
Someone cleared his throat near Jaejoong, so the latter immediately turned. Despite the dark sunglasses and the hood that covered most of his face, Jaejoong recognized Yunho instantly. But before a single word could escape his lips, the other man spoke first.
“Are you breaking up with me?”
“I don’t know, are you?”
Yunho took a deep breath then spoke. “It depends on you.”
“Why does it depend on me?” Jaejoong asked softly. “You’re the one that looks like a gold digging social climber right now, so that means -“
The younger man cringed visibly. “You really could’ve phrased that more nicely…”
Jaejoong berated his lack of tact and winced. He shook his head and looked down at his Gucci shoes. “I’m sorry.”
“I’ll survive,” Yunho said lightly as he forced a small smile. “But…seeing as you’re still here, seeing as you want to know what I think about everything, and seeing as you haven’t noticed that I’ve been holding your hand for the past minute, I think that means you don’t want me to break up with you. Am I right?”
“I don’t know.”
“Grandpa, don’t speak in riddles.” The younger man muttered as he leaned down and rested his forehead against Jaejoong’s shoulder. “You’re the only person I can rely on to speak directly to me, so please, just…”
“I like you, so don’t break up with me…even though you are a gold digging social climber,” Jaejoong muttered as he held Yunho in his arms. “And I’m not your grandpa, brat.”
“I’m sorry, I was wrong,” Yunho murmured as he kissed Jaejoong’s neck and pulled him closer. “You’re not my grandpa…you’re my sugar daddy.”
---
Jaejoong tore his eyes away from the screen when he felt a piece of popcorn hit him in the cheek. He turned his head and glowered at Yunho in the darkness. “What the fuck are you doing?”
“I’m trying to catch your attention.”
The older man rolled his eyes and gestured to the movie screen, where Yunho’s face was currently being projected. “In case you’re blind or haven’t been paying attention to your own movie, you already have my attention.”
“The real me wants all of it.”
Jaejoong rolled his eyes then chucked a piece of popcorn at Yunho’s face. “Well, you’ll just have to deal with having some of it,” he replied as he turned his eyes back to the movie screen. “We paid money to see this movie of yours, on the first day even, and it’s pretty good actually, so -“
“I know some people who go to the movies to make out, especially during these non-regular hours,” Yunho said softly as he leaned in and rested his chin on Jaejoong’s shoulder. He looked at the older man with hopeful eyes and placed his hand on Jaejoong’s thigh. “You look really good right now, with the light from the screen on your face and -“
Jaejoong elbowed Yunho away and tossed another piece of popcorn at him, effectively hitting the young actor between his eyes. He let out an irritated noise and slunk back into his seat. After a few minutes, Jaejoong turned his head, and he saw that Yunho was still observing him.
“Thank you,” Yunho said softly, “For everything, really.”
“Yeah well, I’m kind of putting my job on the line for you, so I guess you should be grateful,” Jaejoong murmured idly as he glanced at the movie screen, “But before you do something stupid, I figure that you should know that I’m fine with finding somewhere else to work. Jisu’s an oppressive bitch.”
Yunho leaned in closer. “Are you sure?” he asked, a concerned look on his face. “I mean…you’ve wanted to be an editor-in-chief for a while, and…”
“I’ll get there someday,” Jaejoong muttered as he looked away from Yunho and his overwhelmingly intense gaze. He swallowed hard then licked his lips. “I’ll get there someday, just like how you’re going to get famous someday. It’ll happen, so right now, we should just enjoy everything. Let’s turn off all our cell phones and ignore technology for a couple of days.”
Yunho chuckled. “And what are we going to do instead? Play monopoly?”
Jaejoong rolled his eyes and reached out so that he could squeeze Yunho’s hand reassuringly. “We’ll bask in our failures and eat lots of good food, that’s what.”
“So I guess this publicity stunt didn’t really work out, did it? Nothing good seems to have come out of our arrangement. Neither of us seems to have gotten what we wanted,” Yunho murmured in amusement as he inched closer to Jaejoong and pressed a kiss behind the other’s ear.
Jaejoong smiled and tilted his head so that he could press a kiss to Yunho’s lips. He pulled away but kept their foreheads pressed close so that he could whisper something only the other man could hear.
“No, something good came out of it,” Jaejoong said with a smile before he pulled Yunho in for another kiss so that he’d be saved from hearing what would probably be an idiotic reply from the younger man.
---
Jaejoong knotted Yunho’s tie in the car. “We’re just going to get through this, alright? Maybe have a couple of drinks or two, talk to people, pretend like we didn’t get caught making out in an alleyway, laugh a bit, sneak out to kiss in the men’s room -“
“You sound nervous.”
“Well Yunho,” Jaejoong tightened the other man’s tie excessively, causing him to splutter, “I hate to break it to you, but I am.” He let out a sigh and touched Yunho’s neck in apology before he finished the tie. He sat down next to the younger man and shut his eyes. “There are going to be a lot of important men in there.”
Yunho took hold of Jaejoong’s hand and squeezed it. “You’ll be fine.” He smiled reassuringly at Jaejoong, “No, we’ll be fine. It’s just a party, so we’re going to relax and have fun. Okay?”
“I hate you, I really do,” Jaejoong muttered as he turned away from Yunho to look out the car window. “I’m breaking up with you right now, leave me alone. What happened to my dreams of dating Oh Ji Ho -“
“Well when I came to Seoul, I thought I’d end up marrying some old man and then living off his money as soon as he died from old age,” Yunho shot back. A few seconds passed before he spoke up, “Oh wait, I’m already on that path right now -“
Jaejoong smacked Yunho’s shoulder. “Stupid kid.” He glowered at Yunho irritably and shoved him away. “I hate you, I really do. You’ve ruined my life.”
Yunho grinned and leaned in. “Why don’t I believe that?”
“Because you’re an idiot,” Jaejoong muttered as he leaned in to press a quick kiss to Yunho’s lips. “But reluctantly, you’re my idiot, so I’ll put up with you for a bit longer.” He let out a nervous sigh and realized that the car had stopped.
The car’s partition between the driver’s side and the passenger’s seat rolled down, and their chauffeur looked back at them. “We’re here.”
“Yes, right, thank you,” Jaejoong mumbled as he looked at his watch uneasily.
The two men sat in silence for a few seconds before Yunho spoke up. “I’ll get out of the car first and open it for you.”
“Someone’s already going to do it for us -“
“No, I’ll do it,” Yunho insisted as he began to move to the other car door. He shot a reassuring smile at Jaejoong, “I need to let everyone know that I’m your obedient man slave, and not a gold digger, right?”
“Idiot -“
Yunho exited the car and shut the door before Jaejoong could finish his sentence. The creative director shifted in his seat uneasily, and when he heard the sound of his door being opened, he tensed up and his heart started to pound in his chest. He could hear the flashing of numerous cameras, and when he turned, he saw Yunho smiling at him.
The young actor held out his hand and smiled at Jaejoong. “Are you ready?”
Jaejoong reached out, held Yunho’s hand, and squeezed it.
He was ready.
---
“So you brought him anyway?”
Jaejoong turned, his flute of champagne in hand, and rolled his eyes obviously at his boss. He tilted his head impatiently and shot her an uninterested look. “Yes, I did, and I know that’s a problem in your eyes.”
“Well -“
“Speaking of husbands, where’s your newest accessory?” Jaejoong questioned lightly, completely uncaring of how rude he sounded. “Didn’t you get him imported from France? Was he half the price since you bought him after Christmas?”
Jisu’s lips formed a thin line. “Are you trying to be funny, or do you just really not care about your career any longer?”
“No, I’m just showing that I don’t care about you,” Jaejoong said bluntly as he held the older woman’s gaze. “I’ve dealt with your bitching, your insane demands, and your mood swings for too long, and I’m sick of it.”
“Well, I’m sure you’ll enjoy unemployment,” Jisu shot back, “You’ll have plenty of time to mull over the mistakes you’ve made, and don’t think you can come crawling back to me once the publication -“
A man cleared his throat, and both of them turned sharply. The elderly man smiled, and Jaejoong stiffened once he recognized who it was.
“Mr. Hong, it’s nice to you,” Jaejoong said quickly as he held out his hand and shook the older man’s hand. He smiled at him politely and shot a glare at Jisu as she leaned forward to kiss the chairman’s cheek.
“Well, if it isn’t my favorite duo,” the elderly man said fondly, completely oblivious of the tension going on between the two. “How is the magazine coming along?”
“Perfectly actually,” Jisu answered quickly, making sure she beat Jaejoong to the punch. “I’ve selected Kim Chaeyoung as our cover model for the March issue, but I do have something to talk to you about our staff -“
“Oh, about that,” Mr. Hong said, “I understand that you and Jaejoong have been having some kind of artistic difference lately?”
“Yes, and it’s quite a hindrance to -“
“No worries, I’ve got the problem solved.”
Jaejoong blinked, and his gaze darted between Jisu and Mr. Hong before he spoke up bravely. “And how is that Mr. Hong?” he asked politely, “After working with you and the company for so long, I hope that -“
“It actually came from my daughter’s suggestion,” Mr. Hong explained. “She said that she felt that it was time we started a new magazine, something with a more youthful and artistic flair to it. Verve seems to have gotten too…”
“Basic?” Jaejoong piped in, well aware his comment would irritate Jisu.
“Not quite, but it lacks a certain kind of energy to it which has been replaced by classicism and a different aura,” Mr. Hong replied, and Jaejoong could see the way Jisu’s jaw tightened. “It still appeals to readers, but readers of an older age it seems, so there’s been quite a shift.”
“I see.”
Mr. Hong took a sip of his wine then continued to speak, “So, considering the fact that you two are currently experiencing artistic differences, I’ve decided to separate you two. Jaejoong, I’m considering you as the editor-in-chief of the new magazine.”
“Oh, well that’s quite an amazing honor for you to give me,” Jaejoong said happily, but he was slightly irritated that he couldn’t shoot a gloating look at Jisu at that exact moment. Nevertheless, his smile brightened. “I’m hoping that all goes well in the launching of this magazine.”
“Trust me, it will,” Mr. Hong said as he clasped Jaejoong’s shoulder warmly. He turned his eyes to Jisu. “I suppose you’ll be on the hunt for a new creative director then?”
“Yes sir.”
“May your search go smoothly. It’s not easy to come by talent like Jaejoong,” the old man said with a laugh. Just as he was about to turn to go, he turned back and spoke again, “Oh right, Jaejoong?”
“Yes sir?”
“Just a suggestion, but for your first issue, we hoped that you would put Mr. Jung on the cover - as an exclusive. It’ll be good press for the magazine, and for him as well,” Mr. Hong suggested. “Considering your relationship with him, I don’t think it should be too hard for you to get him to hold off on other offers until he works with us first.”
Before Jaejoong could say anything, Jisu spoke first. “But sir, if you don’t mind me asking, why him?”
The elderly man blinked at Jisu then replied. “Haven’t you heard?
Jaejoong tilted his head, “Heard what?”
“His movie topped this weekend’s box office chart. It’s a critical and commercial success.”
---
As soon as Jaejoong saw Yunho, he pulled him by the sleeve of his suit jacket and led him out to the ballroom’s garden. Before the younger man could say anything, Jaejoong cupped his face and kissed him.
When he pulled away, Yunho blinked at him.
“Have you been drinking?”
Jaejoong laughed and hugged Yunho tightly. “I’m so happy for you! You idiot, we’re finally getting what we wanted!“
“Oh, right…” Yunho said slowly as he returned Jaejoong’s embrace. “But why are you so happy for me again…?”
The older man took a step back and blinked at Yunho. “Your movie, it’s doing well! I’m sure everyone wants you now, and it shouldn’t be hard for you to get roles, and you’ll probably get commercials and -“
“Is that why people have been treating me differently?”
Jaejoong stared at Yunho, completely taken aback by the other man’s behavior. He blinked for two seconds then quickly swatted Yunho. “You dumbass, of course they’re treating you differently now! Didn’t your manager call you?”
“You told me to keep my phone off -“
“I didn’t really mean it!”
“What? Really?”
Jaejoong pulled Yunho closer by the lapel of his suit and buried his face into the other man’s chest. “Oh my God, you’re an idiot,” he muttered, “I can’t believe you’re actually getting famous.”
“I’m still kind of in shock…” Yunho mumbled, “Forgive me and my youthful behavior, I’m not used to years of success unlike some old people -“
“Idiot kid.”
“Grumpy grandpa.”
Before either of them could say anything else, the fireworks started. They pulled away slightly, and they turned once they heard people in the ballroom begin to start the New Year countdown. The loud shouts turned louder once the countdown ended, and both men faced each other.
“Another year with you?” Jaejoong questioned, his lips quirked into a playful smile.
“I don’t know, we’ll see,” Yunho said slowly as he pulled Jaejoong closer. He kissed the other man softly on the lips then revealed a teasing smile of his own. “Who knows, I may find a hotter sugar daddy next year.”
“There’s no chance in hell of you doing that,” Jaejoong muttered before he pulled Yunho in closer for a proper New Year’s kiss.

Jaejoong fell over one of Yunho’s shoes, and he heard the younger man laugh before he helped him up off the ground. They stumbled in the darkness, and Jaejoong could smell the mix of alcohol with Yunho’s cologne as they tried to find the other man’s bedroom.
“Your room is a mess,” Jaejoong whispered as soon as Yunho got the door open. He promptly shoved Yunho away then made his way to the bed, unbuttoning his shirt and sliding it off on the way there. He sat down and looked at Yunho, “So?”
Yunho took his suit jacket off and tossed it on a chair as he slowly began to approach the older man. “I thought you complained about my apartment being messy,” he teased as he stopped a foot away from Jaejoong. “And look what you’re doing, throwing your clothes around the place.”
“Well, it’s kind of hard to have sex if we’re both clothed.” Jaejoong shot back as Yunho began to unbutton his shirt. His eyes lingered on the tanned skin that was revealed as soon as Yunho’s shirt fell open, and he licked his lips impulsively before his eyes darted back up. “Unless you don’t know what sex is? Are you old enough to have received the talk from your parents?”
Yunho tossed his shirt aside and then proceeded to unbuckle his belt, “I don’t know, you may have to teach me about it.” He slipped out of his pants then pushed Jaejoong down against his bed, making sure to slowly rock his hips against the other man’s. “That is, if you can still remember what sex is like.”
Jaejoong scowled and pulled at Yunho’s hair. “I still remember, thank you very much, I’m not - wait, you have had sex already, right?”
The younger man scowled and narrowed his eyes at Jaejoong. “I’ve had sex before, thank you very much. I’m not a virgin…but it has been awhile, kind of, maybe -“
“Oh. Well…that’s okay,” Jaejoong said awkwardly, a blush coming up onto his cheeks as he grinned at Yunho, “I mean, it’s not like -“
“Is there a problem, or do you have anything more to say?”
“Uhm no, not really…?”
“Then why are we still talking?”
The older man tugged Yunho closer and crashed their lips together, their teeth knocking against each other and their tongues quickly entangling. Jaejoong impulsively spread his legs as Yunho continued to thrust against him, and he moaned as soon as Yunho had taken his attention off his lips to his neck.
Teeth grazed against his skin, hips bucked harshly against his own, and Jaejoong hissed as his nails dug into Yunho’s back. Before the younger man could further assert any kind of dominance over him, Jaejoong pushed Yunho away and straddled his hips. His hands roamed the younger man’s chest, making sure to pinch a nipple, before he lowered his mouth and took the hardened nub into his mouth.
Yunho let out a pleased moan, and Jaejoong sucked and teethed at it for a bit longer before he pulled away.
“Do you have lube?” he asked as he got off Yunho in order to slide his pants and boxers off. He turned back to see that Yunho had taken off his own boxers, and Jaejoong’s eyes lingered on the other man’s erection.
“Eyes up here,” Yunho said in amusement as he rolled off the bed to open his night stand. He took out a bottle of lube and beckoned Jaejoong to come closer. “Get back to bed, boo.”
“Don’t call me that,” Jaejoong muttered as he straddled Yunho’s lap, both of them moaning as soon as their cocks brushed against each other. He wrapped his hand around Yunho’s cock and grinned as another moan escaped from the younger man’s lips. He began to slowly pump the other man’s erection while biting at his neck with the full intention of leaving behind a hickey that would be visible in the morning for everyone to see.
“Stop doing that,” Yunho hissed as he spanked Jaejoong’s butt, startling the older man. He quickly pushed Jaejoong back down and rutted against his boyfriend, “Just behave yourself, Jesus Christ.”
“But I don’t want to.”
Jaejoong smiled wickedly, and just as he was about to try escaping Yunho’s hold, the other man kissed him once again. It was a sloppy kiss, filled with pent up sexual tension, but it was one Jaejoong wasn’t likely to forget any time soon. He could feel himself grow more aroused by the second, and he wrapped his legs around Yunho to pull him closer.
He moaned as Yunho rocked against him, and Jaejoong’s nails sank even deeper into Yunho’s skin, leaving behind crescent shaped marks. He could feel himself grow even more desperate as Yunho began to thrust faster against him, and when he felt himself grow sick of all the teasing, he snapped.
“Fuck me,” he hissed. “You’re taking too long.” Jaejoong added insistently as he began to rock his hips against Yunho.
“So demanding, even in the bedroom. I told you, it’s been a while, so just be patient a bit,” Yunho murmured before he placed a surprisingly chaste kiss onto Jaejoong’s nose.
“You do know how to prep someone right -“
“I’m not a virgin.”
“Just asking,” Jaejoong teased as he kissed Yunho again. He grabbed the bottle of lube from the younger man and was about to uncap it when Yunho stole it back from him.
“I can do it.”
Jaejoong laughed and kissed Yunho’s jaw, “Fine then.”
Yunho pulled away slightly to coat his fingers in lube, and before Jaejoong could make another comment; he quickly pressed them in.
The intrusion was rather unwelcomed, but as Yunho continued to scissor and stretch him open, Jaejoong knew he was ready. He placed a soft kiss to Yunho’s neck and tugged at his earlobe with his teeth before he spoke.
“I want to ride you.”
“Are you fucking serious? I mean -” Yunho practically whined, and Jaejoong resisted his urge to laugh at the other man’s youthful behavior. Jaejoong pressed another kiss to Yunho’s jaw and nodded.
“It’ll be hot, trust me -“
“What the fuck?”
Jaejoong silenced Yunho with a slow kiss and pulled away with a devilish smirk on his lips. “I told you,” he trailed his fingers up Yunho’s chest to pinch a nipple, “Trust me.”
The younger man quickly moved off of Jaejoong, and as he eased into a different position, he made sure to coat his cock with more lube. He looked up at Jaejoong, and Jaejoong smiled as he crawled over to set himself on Yunho’s lap. He carefully positioned himself over Yunho’s erection, and after a few seconds, slowly inched himself down over it.
Loud moans escaped both their lips, and Jaejoong’s eyes fluttered shut as he gripped onto Yunho’s shoulders for support. He took deep breaths to adjust himself to the size of Yunho’s cock, and when he opened his eyes, he saw that Yunho was looking at him.
“Are you okay?”
“Perfect, just perfect,” Jaejoong replied with a smile before he leaned forward to kiss his boyfriend. After a few more moments, Jaejoong slowly began to move. He began to lift himself off Yunho’s lap, only to lower himself once more, and he moaned each time he did. The friction felt amazing, and the way Yunho’s hands were gripping his hips egged him to go on even though Yunho didn’t speak a word.
With renewed vigor, Jaejoong began to impale himself on Yunho’s cock, the sounds of skin slapping against skin only heightening the amount of pleasure he was feeling at that moment. He began to quicken his movements despite the ache in his muscles, and when Yunho began to fist his cock, his actions became more desperate.
Jaejoong held onto Yunho tighter, and his eyes slipped shut as he felt his climax approach. He could feel Yunho thrust up against him, and each sharp thrust into him only brought him further over the edge while he continued to ride the younger man, desperate for his own release. His nails sank into Yunho’s skin, and after a particularly sharp thrust, Jaejoong came and pulled Yunho over the edge with him.
It took a few seconds for them to recover, and Yunho kissed Jaejoong softly before moving his hand lower to squeeze his ass.
“Fuck you,” Jaejoong breathed as he moved against Yunho, his cock grazing against Yunho’s firm stomach. Their bodies were sticky, but the older man was feeling much too lazy to get off Yunho’s lap.
“I’d ask for a round two, but…” Yunho murmured as he pushed Jaejoong down against the bed and climbed over him. He moved lower and licked at the cum that was splattered on Jaejoong’s chest. Jaejoong watched, still rather dazed, as the younger man moved his lips moved lower so that he could teasingly lick up Jaejoong’s half hard cock.
“But what?”
“Can you handle another round? I’m worried for your health.”
“Fuck you.”
“Is that a yes?”
Jaejoong was silent for a few seconds before he turned away and covered his face with his hands, his face turning red with embarrassment. “Yes,” he mumbled, his answer muffled.
“Care to repeat that?” Yunho questioned as he climbed back so that his face would be closer to Jaejoong’s. He nibbled at the other man’s jaw. “What did you say?”
“Yes, please fuck me -“
“Gladly,” Yunho cut in before he pounced on Jaejoong eagerly.
---
Jaejoong’s phone began to ring loudly, and he groaned as he turned over to his side to get it. He could hear Yunho mumble something, but Jaejoong was too caught up in the search for his phone to bother asking him to repeat it. After a few tries, Jaejoong finally grabbed his phone off the nightstand and brought it to his ear.
“So where did you run off to last night?”
“Nowhere,” Jaejoong muttered as he felt Yunho’s arm wrap around his waist in order to pull him closer. “I went home.”
“Alone?”
“Yeah, alone,” Jaejoong lied in order to save himself from telling Chaeyoung everything that had occurred the previous night. He’d save it for some other time, when his lower body didn’t hurt and when he wasn’t so sleepy.
“Bullshit.”
Jaejoong sighed, and he felt Yunho press a kiss to his shoulder. He buried himself deeper into the other man’s warmth and closed his eyes, “Fine, I’m lying. You caught me. Yunho and I had sex.”
“Wonderful sex,” Yunho added lightly as he changed the phone’s setting to speakerphone before he kissed Jaejoong’s cheek.
Chaeyoung laughed, and Jaejoong rolled his eyes. Before Chaeyoung could comment, he spoke first. “Well, I’m going to hang up now so that I can enjoy my Korean Ken in peace -“
“So, apparently Yunho’s really hot stuff right now, and people want to put him in their movies. My agent called me about it, and apparently he thinks I should do a movie with him, maybe do a May - December romance flick.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, one of those passionate affair movies too -“
Jaejoong scowled at the thought, but Yunho disagreed.
“Sounds like a good idea -“
“No,” Jaejoong but in, “You’re not coming ten feet within Yunho Chaeyoung, especially after you ended up marrying your co-star after filming your only passionate affair movie. End of story. Bye.”
Yunho watched as Jaejoong set the phone back onto the nighstand and grinned in amusement. Jaejoong ignored the amused look, but as soon as he’d reached his boiling point and was about to comment, Yunho spoke first.
“Possessive much?” he whispered as he climbed back over Jaejoong and kissed his jaw. He shot Jaejoong his typical charming smile and combed his fingers through the other man’s hair. “I want you to know one thing.”
“And what’s that?” Jaejoong questioned, his eyes looking up into Yunho’s.
“I’m already living my May - December romance movie with you.”
The complete and utter cheesiness of the line stunned Jaejoong into silence, and he stared up blankly at Yunho in response. He wasn’t sure what to do - half of his mind told him to tell Yunho to shut up, while the other half told him to just kiss Yunho so that he would shut up.
But before Jaejoong could hurl any kind of insult, Yunho made a decision for him and closed the distance between them with a kiss. The insult on the tip of his tongue died, and Jaejoong eagerly let go of his aggression in order to deepen their kiss.
There were some things he just couldn’t fight.
