The First Encounter

He likes Yuna.
He even work hard to be accepted in the same college as Yuna.
And he did it.
From today onward he is a student of Empire Star University.
There are something about Yuna that drives him crazy. Her long black silky hair, her sweet smiles, her sparkling eyes, her slim body (oh boy) ..
He vowing himself to make Yuna fall for him during his college year. This is his last chance. Yuna is his high school friend, they are very close, like brother and sister. And he think that’s his fatal mistake. Because he is Yuna’s friend, it is almost imposible to take this relationship to the next step. She always think of him as a friend and brother. And he doubt she even think of him as a male.
Minwoo used all his strategy to show his love, he also make a signal like smiles a lot in front of her (makes him looks like idiot), fetch and take her from home to school everyday (makes him like her private driver), and lots of stuff. But Yuna doesn’t realize it yet. Sometimes he wonder, is Yuna idiot or something for not realizing such affection? Or is it because he is not handsome enough to make a girl fallen for him?
Any way a man doesn’t take back his own words, he is already vowing to make her his and he will do it, at any cost. That’s what Minwoo thinking in the morning when he riding his motorcycle. This is his first orientation day at Empire Star University. And he kind of excited, he drive his ride faster and faster. When he slower his bike and stoping at the traffic light, everyone at the pavement give him nasty look. He doesn’t care. It’s his motorcycle afterall, he will drive it however he want.
When the light turn green he accelerate his motorcycle as fast as he can.
ES University is not too far from where he is now.
As he see the big alphabet ‘EMPIRE STAR UNIVERSITY’ carved from stone on the college hill … he smiles. He faster his ride to enter the gate to the university grounds.
When he takes turns right to the gate he doesn’t aware that a car comes from another direction. Minwoo shocked, he turn hard to left while put on the brakes hopelessly and then lost his balance … He smacked down along with his motorcycle.
Not too hard, but hard enough to make him feel pain in his leg and wrist.
Minwoo take off his helmet, try to freeing his leg from the fallen motorcycle and said, “Ow”. He looks worried at his motorcycle rather than himself.
The car’s door opened.
A figure coming out and walk quickly to Minwoo.
He stop right in front of Minwoo.
“Are you blind or something?” that figure said in disbelieve.
Minwoo raise his head and find a boy with bright hair angry at him.
“Can’t you be more careful when riding that thing? Whenever there is an accident between a car and a bike, car always accused being the wrong one, despite the fact that you are the one who drive like crazy.”
WHAT? Minwoo can’t believe his ear, he is being scolded by the boy who almost bump him with his car. If there is anyone that have the right to angry, it is definitely him .. Minwoo burn in rage ..
Minwoo stand up to face up that car boy, and realize that the boy taller than him. He got impatient. “And can’t you be more careful when you take turn?”
“I am careful.” The boy said. “It is you who clumsy.”
“At least slow down.”
“I AM.” The boy shocked. “Can’t you see it? You’re the one at fault.”
“But I am the one that got injured.”
The boy looking carefully at Minwoo. “If you injured go to college’s infirmary.” He mumbled, give Minwoo a murderously stare before goes back to his car and disappear at the speed of light. Leaving Minwoo speechless. Injured. With his motorcyle on the street still fallen. People around him give him pity look.
“He is so dead.” Minwoo cursed.
Hyungsik
He hates school.
That’s why he like it when he finally graduate from high school.
It’s not because he dislike study, it just he hates crowds.
Is he an antisosial? Well not really. Hyungsik just feel that people don’t like being around him. He also doesn’t talk much, and people do like chit-chating together right? So he do them a favor by staying away from them. So that they don’t have to burdened by somebody like him to take care.
Hyungsik got accepted at Empire Star University, he doesn’t put any effort though. It more like the university offered him to study there. He always like that. Never put effort on studying but the result always amazing. He even got first place on his high school.
He doesn’t really want to continuing his study to college. But his parents want him to, so here he is .. at the ES University. In the middle of crowd, hundred student, mostly freshman like him.
One thing he realised is that ES is supeeer huge.
Its almost like a town.
There is a hill, trees everywhere, large buildings that he doesn’t know its name yet, fountain, and even a lake (human made of course). He surely will got lost if he doesn’t have a map. He has to made it to University Hall at 10 for orientation. Everything is new for him. So he decide to ask for a map. University map. And he spotted some senior in front of large building with blue banner ‘EAST HOUSE’ offering free map to the freshman student.
“Free map for newbie, use this or you will be lost.”
“East House free map .. Hey curly hair .. newbie right? Take this.”
“You can use this for origami if you want .. Ack .. Okay hyung just kidding.”
“Aahh don’t be shy, it’s free really, just take this.”
“East House gladly welcoming new freshmen this year.”
“Map .. University Map .. 2 bucks .. eerr .. I mean free ..”
“I am busy now, yeah .. call me later okay? Ah take this .. what? No .. not you I talked to the newbie just now, aaaaargh didn’t I told you that I am busy?”
So noisy, Hyungsik think. And crowded.
He approached one of the senior and asking for the map.
“Wow .. you’re newbie? So tall .. are you eat pillar for breakfast or something.” A senior grinned at Hyungsik, hand him a blue map.
Hyungsik scowled. He hates it when people mentioning his height.
He snatched the map and take a glance upon a senior who talk to him.
A familiar face.
Hyungsik frozen.
It can’t be.
You’re not real.
Hyungsik immediately grab that senior hand. It solid. It’s not some hallucination.
“Who are you?” He asked.
“Kevin.” The senior answered automatically, a little startled.
“You’re shouldn’t be here.” Hyungsik said, scared.
“Are .. you okay?” Kevin said, looked at Hyungsik as if he were crazy.
Hyungsik push away Kevin hand.
“Don’t come near me.” He said grimly as he turn around. “Just forget we even have met.” Hyungsik walk away from Kevin, leaving Kevin looking at him clueless.
“He is crazy.” Kevin decide a minutes later.
Dongjun
He loves map.
It’s like in that program on TV ..
If you got lost who would you asked for help? The Map ..
Yeah Dongjun The Explorer comes to the town.
He stared blankly at his red map. Of cource his map wouldn’t talk to him like the one on the TV. But he really confused right now. He try to settle things first. His destination is University Hall. And he has to get there before orientation started on 10. He checked his watch .. 9.45 .. still got time. He stared again at his map, assuming this as a treasure game, that would be more interesting, he think.
“Ah found it.” Dongjun excited as he read the big square thing in his map has a ‘University Hall’ label on it.
“Now where am I?” He made a serious face. Tilt down the map, rotate it clockwise, rotate it anti-clockwise, hoping that gonna help him.
He sighed.
He pat girl’s shoulder who incidentally walk pass him.
“Do you know where am I?” He ask bluntly.
The girl blinked her eyes. “You are in Empire Star University.” She answered as it is the most common knowledge.
Dongjun smiles. “Ah yeah, of course, Saengkyuu.”
The girl gasped and quickly continue her walk.
Dongjun rushed looking at his map and realise Empire Star University is this whole map. His smile fading. This treasure map sure is challenging.
“Excuse me ..” Said a soft sound behind him.
Dongjun turn around and he drools.
Stand before him is the most beautiful girl he ever seen. She has black long hair, glowing eyes, white skin, and something about her make a impression that she is very pure, innocent, fairy godmother like.
Suddenly he realise that she is tall.
Taller than him by 5 cm more or less.
Dongjun smiles again. “Yeah.”
“Um we wondering ..” The fairy girl nodded to two girls beside her who fanning theirself with map. “Do you perhaps know where are we right now, because I see you had a map too, and I assume you already know .. we kind of lost”
“We are in the Empire Star University.” Dongjun spoke the first sentence pop in his head.
The fairy give him confused look. Fairy’s friend whisper something on her ear and they nodded together.
“Okay, thank you.” The fairy girl smile and dragged by her friend away.
Dongjun stares at fairy’s back figure and touch his chest.
“She got me.” He said foolishly.
Ah … the fairy moving again. Dongjun alarmed, he automatically follow her. The fairy stop several time to ask something to the people. Dongjun can’t hear anything since there was crowded and noisy. He use his map to hide his face, then suddenly he wondering why he do that. Stupid. He folded hid map and stalk his fairy again.
Five minutes later the fairy and her two friends go into a building.
Dongjun watched them behind a tree, questioning himself what are they doing there and should he comes inside too?
“What are you doing?” A senior startled Dongjun.
"Umm .. nothing.” Dongjun lied.
“Well then get over here, that tree isn’t gonna walk anywhere, there is no need for you to hold it.”
Dongjun realise his situation. “Oh right.”
He grins and trying to make up an excuse. “I am lost … this place is like mega huge and I can’t find where The Hall is, can you help me eeerrrrr ..” he read the senior name tag, “… Taehun hyung?”
Taehun snickered. He grab Dongjun head and directed it straight to the building in front of him. “That’s the Hall … see the big H, A and double L there? That how you spell ‘Hall’ got it?”
Then Dongjun saw it. Well technically he already saw it before, its just that he doesn’t aware that the building is the Hall. It’s a big white building, has an ancient look, like some Greek style with many pillars and wide stairs at the front.
“Oh.” Dongjun scream, so that fairy girl also heading to the hall? Is this fate or what. He excited. And quickly run to the hall, but then he remember something and run backward to the senior.
“Thanks hyung.” Dongjun said happily before run forward again.
“…” Taehun remain silent.
