Summary: Star Fencer Kim Jaejoong is determined to go for the gold at the 2012 London Olympics as a member of the Korean national team an nobod will get in his way. What happens when his former rival Shim Changmin returns to Korea to also represent the team? Who will come out on top?
With the first flight landing at Incheon International Airport from Jeju, there were people waiting along the way for two absolutely stunning athletes to make their way into the airport. As the pair walked through the terminal toward the loading zone, Changmin was greatly surprised to hear murmurs and hissing whispers surrounding him with each step he took. There were blatant stares from both women and men directed at the two fencers as they continued their trek across the waxed tiles beneath their feet.
“Look! It’s the Flower Fencer!” he heard a teenage girl squeal to her friend as she pointed toward the raven-haired man striding a few steps ahead. “He’s much more gorgeous in real life!”
Changmin inwardly cringed as he took each step under great scrutiny, also knowing that the raven ahead of him was absolutely relishing all eyes and attention on them. And as he stared at the man in front of him, it impressed him with how much poise the older man radiated.
Dressed fashionably in onyx combat boots with skinny black jeans that hugged his lean legs and a powder blue, low-cut sweater that presented his prettily protruding clavicles to spectators, Kim Jaejoong had once again reaffirmed his innate ability to stop traffic as he walked confidently with his bag slung over his shoulder. It was almost comical to watch the way people had instantly moved away from the beauty’s path, and it was even more peculiar to see the expressions on everyone’s faces.
“Isn’t that Shim Changmin behind him too?” Jaejoong overheard a woman questioned as her eyes raked over the tall Adonis behind him, causing the fencer to smirk in pride. “The two look absolutely amazing together! If I knew fencers were this handsome, I would’ve taken up the sport years ago!”
Before he could react to her words, a bunch of high-pitched squeals and camera flashes shuttered off in front of his face out of nowhere, temporary blinding the raven. Growing up in a wealthy household under scrutiny because of his parents’ statuses gave him a greater tolerance for such behavior; he was the son of a diplomat and his socialite of a fashion designer wife, after all. When his parents were around, they made sure he knew how to be pleasant in a crowd and how to remain in control of situations that involved crowds and spectators.
But unlike him, Changmin was absolutely not used to the lifestyle and was the type who got anxious around crowds and preferred to keep the attention off of him. As worry suddenly washed over him like a bucket full of frigid water, Jaejoong whirled around swiftly, looking for the other man. Caught off-guard from the camera flashes of the teenage girls that had rushed up to catch a glimpse of Korea’s hottest new athletes, Changmin was still a few meters behind trying to catch up to the other man. As he locked gazes with the younger man, Jaejoong spotted fear and immense discomfort in the wide, deer-like eyes of the man he loved.
Reacting without even thinking his actions through, the raven rushed over to the taller man rooted in his spot and reached for his hand, giving him a reassuring squeeze before pulling him along, refusing to let him go until they reached the car. Jaejoong didn’t even care about all of the screeching and flashes from the cameras of the teenage girls that erupted at the gesture; all he needed to do was get Changmin out of the terminal before he had a panic attack from all of the people pushing around.
As soon as the two exited the terminal, Jaejoong scanned the area for Yoochun’s car when he saw the man leaning against familiar cobalt blue sedan waiting at the curb, aviator sunglasses and charcoal scarf hiding half his face. Striding over quickly with his hand still clasping the younger man’s, the raven waved his other arm in the air, trying to catch the sabreur’s attention. “Park Yoochun!” he called out, picking up the pace.
Turning his head, Yoochun’s eyes instantly wandered down to the linked hands and smirked before looking back up at the pair. “Welcome back, my lovely dongsaengs!” he vocalized cheerfully, hiding the smirk in his voice. “Did you have an eventful vacation?”
Only a few meters away, Jaejoong scowled. “Let’s go!” he exclaimed, nodding his head back to gesture at the unusually reserved man trailing behind him.
Finally taking a look at his best friend, concern flashed across Yoochun’s face. “Shit, Minnie,” he swore under his breath. “Get in the car,” he stated sternly before turning and striding straight for the driver’s door. As much of a relaxed and goofy person the sabreur could be, the man knew when to be serious.
By the time Jaejoong ushered Changmin into the car, Yoochun was already jamming the key into the ignition. As soon as the raven closed the back door, the driver sped off and away from the airport.
The sabreur looked in the mirror. “Was it really that crowded in the terminal?” he questioned incredulously.
Jaejoong scoffed. “Do you not see how Changmin looks right now?” he shot back before turning his attention to the other man who was sitting quietly next to him. “Min-ah,” he whispered, squeezing his hand, “are you okay?”
Changmin looked up from his lap to his teammate, slightly dazed. “I uh…I wasn’t expecting that to happen today…” he admitted quietly. “I just wasn’t ready.”
“Bab…” Jaejoong started but paused when he noticed Yoochun looking expectantly through the rearview mirror. “Babo!” he exclaimed instead. Close call. “You should have told me you don’t like large crowds! I wouldn’t have left you behind!”
Jaejoong’s last words snapped the tall Adonis back to reality. I wouldn’t have left you behind. Those words held so much more meaning to the younger man after the night before and he couldn’t help but gaze into the doe-like eyes of the man next to him and give his hand a squeeze. “I’m sorry,” he apologized, “I should have talked to you about everything first.”
With the tone of Changmin’s voice and the look in his eye, Jaejoong knew that this was more than an apology for the minor inconvenience that just happened minutes ago. And with that, the raven wanted nothing more than to just hop into the younger man’s lap and kiss him senseless.
But of course, the urge was gone within two seconds as a third voice piped up. “You know, I can pull over into some parking lot and leave you two for a half hour if you want,” Yoochun suggested as he stared at the two through the rearview mirror, smirking.
“Damn it, hyung!” Changmin groaned, lifting his palm to hide his eyes, while Jaejoong stared daggers at the sabreur in the driver’s seat.
“What?” he questioned innocently as he got them off the freeway. “I just want you to know that I’m supportive of you in all of your endeavors, Minface. Including Jaejoongie. Is that too much or-”
I like big butts and I cannot lie~
“Oh, that’s me!” he announced before he put on his earpiece and answered the phone. “Hello? Ah, Yunho-hyung!”
Changmin snorted at the ringtone that was so appropriate for his best friend, who just happened to be infatuated with a man who had the best ass in the fencing club. Turning to look over at the raven, the tall Adonis raked his eyes over the other’s face, taking in everything that he adored about the man. Changmin opened his mouth, about to say something when he felt himself get propelled forward.
“What?!” Yoochun nearly shrieked as he slammed his foot on the brake, bringing the car screeching to a stop. Luckily, the three were now on an isolated side street and wouldn’t have to worry about getting rear-ended.
“Yah, Park Yoochun!” Jaejoong screamed in annoyance. “What the fuck?”
“No! No, that’s not true!” the sabreur continued, tuning out everyone in the backseat. “Why would I? Everyone knows I-”
The beauty turned to look over to the taller man next to him, giving a quick once over to make sure he was okay before the two turned their complete attention to the man in the driver’s seat.
“Are you serious? How could you even tell it was me and him?” Yoochun questioned. “Well yeah, we were there…but it’s not true! I would never!” He sighed. “Look, I’ll be there in a little bit. I have Min and Jae with me; we’re going to the apartment. But could you uh…could you send me a photo of it? I’ll pass the message on. Yeah, I’ll call you back.” With a click, Yoochun ripped the headset from his ear and flung it across the car. “Fuck!”
“Hyung!” Changmin shouted. “What’s wrong?”
The sabreur looked into the rearview mirror, meeting his best friend’s wide eyes. He looked into the coffee brown orbs and it hit him; Yoochun couldn’t let his best friend see this. Regardless of how strong he seemed, Changmin was in a fragile state of mind right now; the sabreur wasn’t sure how incriminating the photos were, but anything remotely close to looking legitimate could damage the epeeist. The need to protect the man that was like his own brother took over Yoochun as he quickly formulated a plan. “Oh…um…” he stammered, trying to think up something, “You know, jealous exes…anyway, let’s just go back to the apartment, yeah? Yunho told me to let you know that since the both of you just flew in this morning, you aren’t required to attend the duel today. Why don’t I just drop the two of you off?”
Before either of the men in the backseat could say anything, Yoochun was already driving again. The final minutes of the ride were spent in silence, the younger two feeling the tension radiating off of the sabreur in the front seat. After the car pulled into the parking garage of the apartment complex, the three made their way into the elevator and were soon in the shared home.
“Welcome back, you two,” Yoochun stated as the trio walked through the living room and into the hallway. “I’m just going to change, then I’ll leave you both here. Although I don’t think it’ll be a problem anymore, right?” he added, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.
Changmin turned around and gaped at him. “Hyung!” he whined. “Get your mind out of the gutter you pervert!”
“What?” he questioned innocently before he gasped and turned to the raven. “Ah, Princess!” he exclaimed. “I need your advice on something. Could you come with me for a second?”
No longer annoyed by the term, Jaejoong looked down from his bag to the man, as if he were wondering on its urgency.
“Minnie, could you take his bag to your room? I just need to borrow his fashion sense,” Yoochun explained, smiling softly.
The youngest nodded as he reached for the raven’s bag before continuing down the hallway while the sabreur pulled the beauty into his room and shut the door behind them.
“Yoochun, what’s going on?” Jaejoong asked quietly.
The sabreur gulped. “We have a problem.”
“A problem? What do you mean we have a problem?”
Yoochun shook his head rapidly as he pulled his shirt off and switched it for another one. “Changmin can’t go to the duel today,” he whispered.
“What? Why?”
“Look…remember the other day when we were on the roof?” the sabreur inquired. The beauty nodded. “Well, someone took photos of us and made it look like we were…doing things up there during practice…”
Jaejoong’s jaw dropped. “Park Yoochun!” he hissed out in anger.
“I just found out!” Yoochun shot back, pulling his jeans off. “Long story short, the photos got to Junsu and he’s about to impale someone right now. There’s a high chance that it’ll be the both of us, but let’s hope that Kyuhyun gets the brunt of his anger.”
The beauty covered his mouth as he shook his head. “We need to get rid of those photos and clear everything up!” he exclaimed. “Min can’t find out about this right now; he doesn’t have any trust in me yet!”
Yoochun stepped into another pair of pants and started to pull them up. “I know, I know,” the sabreur agreed before he paused. “Shit, how are we going to do this? He can’t see those photos!”
Before Jaejoong could respond, there was a knock at the door. “Is everything alright?”
The pair met each other’s gazes and schooled their features before the sabreur reached over and turned the doorknob, pulling it back. “Ah, Minnie!” Yoochun greeted. “I’m about to head out and meet the others at the club. Why don’t you go and relax, yeah?” And with that, the oldest brushed past him and headed toward the door. Almost there, the sabreur stopped as if he just recalled something. “Ah! Jaejoong-ah!” he called over his shoulder. “Could you do me a favor?”
Jaejoong peeked his head out into the hallway. “What’s up?” he asked, meeting the man’s gaze.
“I need you to run to the liquor store and get me a bottle of that sake Junsu likes. The shops close early today and I won’t make it in time,” he requested, hoping that the raven would read between the lines.
After a second, his hopes were answered as the beauty nodded his head. “I can do that,” Jaejoong responded with a shrug.
“Why not me, hyung?” Changmin asked with a pout.
Yoochun smirked. “First of all, I trust Jaejoong more than you when it comes to alcohol. And second, I’m trying to get with Junsu and I’d be better off asking his cousin than someone who’s only had a few encounters with the man,” he replied, blinking. With nothing else to say, the sabreur nodded to the pair and breezed out the door.
After hearing the door click shut, Changmin turned back to face the raven and smiled softly. “So…” he murmured, hand rubbing his neck nervously.
Ripped from a trance, Jaejoong looked up and smiled back before he stepped forward. “Min-ah, why don’t you go take a nap?” he suggested, wrapping his arms around the younger man’s shoulders. “You must be tired.”
“Hm…” Changmin started, resting his hands on the raven’s hips and bringing him closer. “Take a nap with me,” he replied innocently.
The older man sighed. “I can’t,” Jaejoong responded sullenly. “I need to go pick up that bottle for Yoochun.”
“Oh…” Changmin replied. “I’ll go with you then!”
Uh oh. “B-B-But I uh…” the raven stuttered, “I need to go pick up my mail from my parents’ house.”
Changmin’s eagerness disappeared in that instance. “Oh…Well I mean…Okay, how about you just go and come back? I’ll be here…”
“Of course!” the beauty responded. “And we’ll talk when I get back, alright?” he questioned hopefully.
The tall Adonis hummed in agreement before he brought his hands up to hold the raven’s face, pressing his lips to the older man’s forehead. “Be safe,” he wished before stepping back to let the raven leave.
As Jaejoong continued down the hallway toward the door, the apprehension of what was happening at the Fencing club slowly ate at him. Grabbing his keys and necessities, the raven sighed as he locked the front door behind him, thinking of the man on the other side. “Please don’t hate me,” he murmured under his breath.
When the raven exited the elevator, he saw Yoochun leaning against his car. “I thought it’d be easier if we drove together,” the sabreur suggested with a shrug.
Jaejoong nodded as he approached the driver’s side. “I hope this asshole knows what he’s dealing with,” he stated breezily, opening his car door.

“Well, this is fun,” Changmin stated to himself with a sigh. After Jaejoong left nearly a fifteen minutes ago, the tall Adonis was simply restless, so he decided to partake in one of his favorite pastimes.
He took another spoonful of cereal into his mouth, eyes not breaking away from the television. While Changmin would normally refuse to admit it, he would spend many of his rainy days like this; sitting cross-legged on the floor with a bowl of cereal in his lap and a historical drama on. Most of these shows had a love story attached to it, and the younger man’s inner romantic enjoyed watching these shows for that.
At a tense moment in the episode when the lovestruck crown prince snuck out in the middle of the night to meet the love of his life, the moment was ruined by the sound of a crude song floating through the air.
I like big butts and I cannot lie~
“Aish!” Changmin exclaimed as he put his bowl of cereal aside and rose from the ground. “Of course you would leave your phone here, Park Yoochun!”
Trying to find the source of the sound, the tall Adonis rushed into the sabreurs’ shared bedroom and located the phone in the pocket of his best friend’s pants. He pulled the phone out and was about to silence it when he saw Yunho’s name on the screen. Thinking it might be an emergency, Changmin hit the accept button and put the phone to his ear.
“Yeoboseyo?” he answered.
“Yah, Park Yoochun! Where are you? I’m waiting at the entrance to the club!” Yunho’s voice thundered.
“Oh, Yunho-hyung,” Changmin greeted. “He-”
Yunho interrupted Changmin before he could say anything else. “The duel just started and Junsu’s out for blood right now! Heechul is trying to keep him from going crazy on the piste but regardless if those pictures are legit, I’m calling a team meeting as soon as the three of you get here because this is fucked up!”
The tall Adonis paused. The three of you? Yoochun said that he and Jaejoong wouldn’t have to attend, so what was going on? “Pictures?”
There was a sigh. “Yes, pictures! The ones that I just sent you! You know, the ones with you and Jaejoong eating each other’s faces on the rooftop?”
That was all Changmin heard before the cellphone dropped to the floor, the team captain’s voice faint in the distance.

The sleek black Audi quickly pulled into the parking lot of the Elite Fencing Club at high speed as the two supposed lovers exited the car a few seconds later. On the short trip over, the pair had gone over whatever they knew so far and their plan of attack to resolve the situation.
From what Yoochun had gathered from Yunho, someone put pictures in Junsu’s locker of his love interest and cousin that morning before scattering some of the copies into other lockers of the fencers there. The sabreur for some reason couldn’t find his phone when he looked for it to pull up the photos, but figured that the pair wouldn’t have to search far for them when they arrived at the club.
When Jaejoong and Yoochun reached the entrance, they noticed a perplexed looking Yunho on the phone next to the doorway. As they approached, the sabreur called the captain for his attention. “Yunho-hyung?”
When the team captain looked up at the pair, his countenance turned into one of confusion. “Yoochun-ah?” he questioned, puzzled.
The pair stared at him, wondering what was going on as the eldest pressed a button and lowered the cellphone from his ear.
“If you’re here,” he gestured, pointing at the sabreur before he pointed to his cellphone, “then who just answered your phone?”
The trio stood in silence for a few seconds before Jaejoong’s jaw dropped as he let out a gasp, eyes widening. “Changmin,” he breathed.
At the sound of his best friend’s name, Yoochun lurched forward and grabbed Yunho by his collar. “What did you tell him?” he questioned in a dangerously low voice.
The captain moved his eyes from the glint of rage in the usually calm sabreur to the distressed epeeist behind him. “Yoochun-ah…” he began, “calm down…”
“I said what did you tell him?!” Yoochun nearly shouted, growling at the end as his hands tightened.
“Yoochun!” Jaejoong shouted from behind as he pulled the sabreur back. Being on the receiving end of his anger before, the raven did not want Yunho to get hurt. “Calm down!
Letting go of Yunho, the sabreur took a deep breath. Looking back at the captain, he bit his lip. “Hyung, please…what did you say to him?”
Yunho suddenly felt like he was unaware of a big part of this situation. “I thought he was you and…I told him that Junsu was beyond upset at the both of you…and I may have mentioned the photos…”
“Oh god…” Jaejoong breathed, feeling the tears well up in his eyes. “He’s going to hate me…”
The captain looked over. “Jaejoong-ah, what are you talking about?” he questioned softly, moving toward the raven.
He started to shake his head, shoving his hand into his pocket for his phone. “He’s going to hate me...” Jaejoong repeated as he pressed a few buttons before lifting the phone to his ear.
Processing the entire scene, Yoochun lifted his hand up to pinch the bridge of his nose. “Yunho, where are the pictures?” he asked, defeated.
“Huh? Oh…” Yunho pulled out a small pile of photos from his jacket pocket. “These are all of the pictures that I’ve confiscated so far, but there are more scattered around the warehouse.” He sighed. “Look, we need to talk about the-”
“He’s not picking up!” Jaejoong exclaimed, shaking his head. “Yoochun, he’s not answering! Oh god…”
Yoochun handed the photos back to his teammate before stepping forward and wrapping his arms around Jaejoong. “Calm down, Jae…” he cooed. “Everything’s going to be okay…”
“No it’s not!” the raven cried out, clutching to the sabreur’s back. “It’s not going to be okay!” He pulled away. “I need to go back to the apartment. I-I-I…I have to go…”
“Jaejoong-ah,” Yoochun called out.
“Take care of everything here,” the raven commanded before turning on his heel and sprinting out of the club.

Changmin stood still, completely in shock from what he just heard. This couldn’t be happening, could it? As he let the statements sink into his head, the tall Adonis suddenly dropped to the floor on his knees and snatched the phone up. With shaking fingers, he unlocked his best friend’s phone and opened up the unread message sent from Yunho.
There were only three photos sent over, but each one was more incriminating than the next. In the first picture, Jaejoong’s back was to the camera but Yoochun’s hands were seen framing his face. As he hit next, the following photo was of the pair sitting side by side on the picnic table of the rooftop, quilt draped over their laps and the older man’s arm wrapped tightly around the raven’s shoulders. When Changmin reached the final picture, he felt his heart shatter to pieces.
In the final photo, Yoochun was straddling the raven with his hands cupping Jaejoong’s cheeks tightly. But the beauty’s hands, however, were splayed over Yoochun’s back, nails digging into the sabreur’s shoulder blades. “No…” Changmin whimpered, tears welling up in his eyes; he just couldn’t look away.
The tall Adonis wanted to believe that this wasn’t true, but his emotions got the best of him. He had seen the raven break his heart before; what would stop him from doing it again? And with his best friend, of all people?
Last night seemed too good to be true for Changmin, to finally have the raven under his touch was a dream. But for the epeeist, all good things come to an end, and this was no exception. Feeling the familiar sorrow flow through his veins, the epeeist pulled his knees to his chest, vulnerable more than anything else.
The phone in his hand started to ring again, but a different name showed up when the tall Adonis looked at the screen. Jaejoong lit up the screen, and Changmin felt a spark of anger ignite. Flinging the phone onto the bed, the young epeeist rested his forehead on his knees. There were only so many times he could take Jaejoong hurting him before he completely broke.
