Summary: Star Fencer Kim Jaejoong is determined to go for the gold at the 2012 London Olympics as a member of the Korean national team and nobody will get in his way. What happens when his former rival Shim Changmin returns to Korea to also represent the team? Who will come out on top?
Jaejoong slammed his hand against the white tile that lined the shower stalls of the locker room in frustration as he let out a pained shout. Ever since Changmin returned, there was absolutely nothing that the raven-haired fencer could do without the younger man invading his thoughts. He was in his mind as he slept, ate, trained, and now even when he showered.
His life revolves around the fencing piste, and so does Changmin’s. Everything is a reminder of what used to be and what probably couldn’t be anymore, and it turned the headstrong and confident raven into an unsure and unstable mess at that prospect. The memories and reminders of his past and how he lost the most important person in his life on his account deteriorated the beauty’s well being. Always the one to be fueled by his emotions and wear his heart on his sleeve, the beauty was suddenly vulnerable. And what made the situation worse was that Changmin hated him; he could tell by the confrontation from earlier that day.
It was always a habit of Jaejoong’s to pick the most isolated shower stall; the farther away from the entrance, the less likely it would be occupied and the more likely he would be able to escape the outside world. Yet even now when the other man is back in his life, there was no way that he could escape anymore as angry tears made their way down his cheeks.
--
“Bend your knees!” Jaejoong playfully scolded as he pushed down on the other boy’s shoulders to bring him closer to his height. “Why are you so tall?”
It was another long Friday night at the fencing club for the two who were training for Worlds, meaning it was another long night when they were the last fencers at the warehouse. It was seven in the evening and as long as the two were out before 8pm, they could do whatever they wanted. In tonight’s case, the two were huddled in the back shower stall of the locker room.
“Why are you so short?” Changmin shot back as he tightened his hold on the smaller boy’s hips, chuckling as he saw the bewildered look the older fencer gave him. “Okay, okay! I’m bending my knees!” he exclaimed, acquiescing to the request.
Jaejoong gave him a haughty smirk as he poured shampoo on the sixteen-year-old’s head, rubbing his scalp soothingly; the massaging fingers and the heat from the water pounding onto his body relieved the stress that worked his body at practice. “Close your eyes.”
Changmin listened, his eyelids fluttering shut. He felt a pair of hands tilt his head back into the shower stream, rinsing the shampoo out of his locks. Soon after, his head was level, yet the hands that held his head drifted down to his shoulders. “You can open your eyes now,” the older boy stated, voice soft.
The tall sixteen-year-old opened his eyes and tilted his gaze to focus on the other fencer’s dark chocolate colored orbs staring back at him. The gaze was cold and intense, as was every look that Jaejoong gave, yet there was a glint of something underlying in his irises. Both adolescents refused to avert their eyes; each boy’s pair of eyes was surveying the other one’s, searching for some way to decipher the emotions each reflected. The younger boy instead turned them around, the raven being under the showerhead instead.
“Close your eyes,” Changmin breathed out, reiterating the other’s words. Confusion flashed through the raven’s eyes momentarily before he sighed and
obeyed the younger’s demand. There were a few seconds of stillness; Jaejoong had no awareness of what the other was doing until he felt a feathery light touch on his right eyelid, followed by a similar touch on his left one, before a pair of lips covered his. It was a quick kiss, sweet and chaste. Giving one more peck, Changmin leaned back and tilted his head forward so his forehead rested against Jaejoong’s. “You can open your eyes now,” he voiced out, barely louder than the sound of the droplets of water hitting the floor.
The raven’s eyes fluttered open as he looked up into the younger boy’s eyes. Changmin’s eyes were always large and expressive to begin with; looking at the pair of orbs from mere centimeters away gave away everything that he was feeling. Searching, the beauty could only see love, innocent and pure like the boy himself. Another wall that Jaejoong put up to keep everyone at bay crumbled before his eyes as he gazed back. Seeing so much care towards him was definitely not something Jaejoong was used to, and Changmin noticed something was wrong as soon as he saw the raven’s eyes began to water.
“Jae?” the younger boy called out as his hands moved up to the beauty’s face, thumbs rubbing over his cheekbones as he pulled back to get a better look at the other. “Jae, what’s wrong?”
Squeezing his eyes shut, the raven shook his head in response, instead opting to remain silent. The water from the shower fell down over his face, mixing with the stray tears that fell.
“Look at me,” Changmin whispered gently as he nudged his nose against Jaejoong’s. “Please?”
After a few seconds of debate, the raven finally opened his eyes again, stormy irises looking into the warm brown eyes that belonged to the sixteen-year-old. “Why are you so caring toward me?” he asked shakily.
The taller boy smiled lovingly at the other as he thought of his answer. “There’s no reason why I shouldn’t be,” he replied earnestly.
Suddenly at a loss of words at just witnessing how much the other boy had grown to care for him and his flaws, Jaejoong would have fallen to his knees and wept for forgiveness for the crime he had committed these past few months had it not been for the pair of hands holding his head up. Knees shaking, the raven instead moved his arms to wrap around the other boy’s neck, pulling him close until their bodies were flush together. Composing himself, Jaejoong finally opened his mouth. “Will you ever stop caring about me?” he asked, voice quivering. “Even if I fuck everything up?”
“Jae,” Changmin began after taking a deep breath, “I promise you that I will never stop caring for you, even if you do somehow manage to fuck everything up. I will always forgive you because I…” he trailed off.
Jaejoong just knew what the younger fencer was going to say and it scared him even more. Those words couldn’t be uttered yet; not when their entire relationship was built on a lie. Before Changmin could finish his thought, Jaejoong crashed his lips onto the younger boy’s, cutting him off.
At first, the taller fencer was surprised and still but within a few seconds Changmin responded to the passionate kiss, parting his lips for the raven. Jaejoong just couldn’t let him say those words nor could he say them himself, but if he just somehow showed how much he absolutely needed Changmin, then maybe there would still be hope and forgiveness for when he came clean. Changmin loved Jaejoong with his heart and Jaejoong loved Changmin so much that it hurt him to think about the exact moment that the lies will make themselves know. Tears fell down the raven’s face as he deepened the kiss; just how much would Changmin be willing to forgive him?
--
“Good job today, Changmin! It’s nice to have you back!”
The tall fencer gave a quick bow. “Thank you for taking me back, Donghoon-sshi,” he replied reverently. “Have a nice day!”
Training for the two epeeists ended early because of a meeting with the Director they were asked to attend in a half hour, so Changmin was finished as soon as the duel between him and Donghoon ended. The other epeeist was nowhere to be found, running out of the training area during the duel. The young man was really confused as to what caused such behavior, but brushed it off for now.
Sauntering into the empty locker room, Changmin opened his locker and started to peel off layers of uniform, putting each garment neatly back in its place in the locker. Reaching for his towel, the tall brunet stripped down and wrapped it around his waist before heading to the showers. As he entered the area, he picked a stall in the corner that was farthest from the entrance; there were many things brewing in his head and he needed to be as far from human interaction as possible to clear the raging storm in his head even just a little bit.
The Adonis was just about to pull open the shower curtain when it was yanked open from the inside. “Oh, I’m so-” Changmin started before the last word died on his lips. Standing before him, clad in only a black towel that contrasted his milky white skin, was his ex-lover.
As soon as Jaejoong looked up and realized whom it was, he instantly dropped his head, bangs covering his puffy eyes. “It’s fine,” he muttered as he stepped out, brushing past the younger fencer and making haste to get out of the shower area before Changmin had time to react or notice his appearances.
Stepping into the isolated shower stall, Changmin took off the towel and hung it over the curtain bar before turning the handle for the shower. The hot water fell down in a steady stream from the showerhead and pounded down onto the fencer’s worked muscles. Changmin leaned back into the falling water, reaching for the shampoo bottle before working some of it into his thick hair. The steam from the heated water put him slightly at ease as he closed his eyes and felt his body relax.
It had taken Changmin four years to get his life back together and return home to continue doing what he loved. The emotional damage that Jaejoong had caused him tore him apart. But if the entire relationship was just a simple plan that Jaejoong had concocted, then the entire relationship was just a lie, wasn’t it?
The Adonis let out a frustrated growl as he vigorously scrubbed his body. Although he was new to the emotions of feeling complete with another person all those years ago, Changmin just had a feeling that the love he held for the other was mutual. He was sixteen and head over heels for the beautiful man; Changmin didn’t know better and ended up getting his heart broken. There were so many pent up emotions that he had; the sight of Jaejoong made him want to just punish him for all the pain he felt, but at the same time he just couldn’t do it. It was like the raven had a hold on him and there was absolutely nothing he could do about it except hope that Jaejoong would be merciful from here on out.
But just seeing Jaejoong so scantily clad lately still managed to ignite the flames in the depths of Changmin’s being. The tall fencer sighed as he closed his eyes, hand subconsciously trailing down his body as he recalled the absolutely stunning man that used to claim him.
--
Changmin bit his lip in thought as he shut the shower curtain behind him, trying to figure out what was going on. There was something different about Jaejoong lately, he thought as he turned on the water and felt it pound over his body. The sixteen-year-old had spent a good part of the past year surreptitiously stealing glances at the object of his affection.
But these past few days, Changmin felt as if his raven-haired senior was purposely putting on a show for him. A brush of fingers here, a sliver of skin there; the younger fencer nearly felt himself come to life when he saw the beauty poke out his pink tongue and slowly swipe it across his plump red lips. He let out the breath that he wasn’t even aware that he held as he shook his head, trying to abandon all naughty thoughts he had about the fierce epeeist he fenced with. His eyes fluttered shut; the more he pushed the image of Jaejoong away, the more it returned.
The sixteen-year-old, so caught up in his fantasies, failed to notice the swish of the shower curtain opening and closing as someone stealthily entered the stall. Changmin let out a yelp of surprise that was muffled by a hand clapped over his mouth. The split second of disorientation and surprise on his part was enough for the person behind him to press his body against the young fencer, drifting a hand down to graze along his abdomen. Before the boy had time to react, a pair of lips pressed up behind his left ear.
“Changmin-ah,” an airy voice cooed in his ear, “calm down…”
The tall brunet felt his heart rate speed into overdrive the second he heard that distinct voice. Trying to calm himself, it took a few seconds before he was able to slow his heart rate down to normal.
Jaejoong removed his hand from the sixteen-year-old’s mouth and raised it to card through the wet locks of hair on his head. “It’s just me, Minnie,” he whispered huskily as he pulled Changmin’s body flush against his. Before the younger man could turn to face him, Jaejoong tightened his grip on the boy’s hair. “No, look straight ahead and keep your arms to your side.”
Changmin gulped. “J-J-Jaejoong-hyung…” he started, “What are you…why are you here?”
“Hm?” Jaejoong asked as he nipped a spot beneath the younger boy’s ear, his left hand sliding sensually down Changmin’s skin. “Why wouldn’t I find my way to you?”
There was silence as Changmin willed himself to be in control of his body; he wanted to turn around and crash his lips onto the beauty pressed up behind him.
“I know you want me,” Jaejoong stated, his breath tickling the other’s ear as he continued to weave his fingers through the younger boy’s thick hair. “Do you like me, Min-ah?” he questioned as he traced circles around the sixteen-year-old boy’s navel. “Hm?”
Changmin let out an involuntary shiver as his body tensed up when the raven-haired beauty pressed those plump lips against his neck. “I…” he started, but the words just wouldn’t come out.
Jaejoong let out a breathy chuckle. “I just need you to say it, Min,” he coaxed into the other’s ears, fingers rubbing over Changmin’s scalp. “Just answer the question for me, please?”
“Yes,” Changmin breathed out.
The raven hummed in satisfaction, his left hand straying away from the younger boy’s belly button and continuing its way south. “Do you think about me at night?”
A furious blush crept up onto the taller boy’s cheeks, embarrassment and horror on his face. Changmin thanked the fact that the smaller boy couldn’t see his face at the moment because it was as red as a tomato.
“Do you, Min-ah?” Jaejoong repeated, grinding his hips forward into the younger boy.
Changmin gasped at the feeling of Jaejoong’s skin against his, feeling himself come to life. “Yes,” he answered shamefully, wanting nothing more than a cold shower to bring him back down.
“Do you think of me naked? Splayed out on your sheets, waiting for you to take me?” Jaejoong purred as his left hand grasped the base Changmin’s erection, causing the other to let out a moan.
“I do,” the younger boy whimpered out, his hands instinctively reaching behind him to grasp onto the smaller boy’s thighs in need.
Jaejoong stroked Changmin excruciatingly slow, smirking as he felt the boy shudder against him when he flicked his wrist. “Do you think of slowly thrusting into me, teasing me until I beg for you to pound faster into me?”
The sixteen-year-old squeezed his eyes shut as Jaejoong conjured up images in his head with each word that was spoken. “Oh, God,” he breathed out.
The raven-haired beauty sped up his strokes slightly. “Do you think of the way that I clutch onto your thick brown locks in mindblowing pleasure every time you thrust into me?” he asked, his fingers clenching into a fist in Changmin’s hair.
Changmin groaned in appreciation as he felt a knot tightening in his stomach.
Jaejoong nipped his earlobe. “Do you whisper dirty things into my ear as I mark you as mine with each suck, nibble, and bite on your skin?” he questioned before nipping his way down to Changmin’s shoulder and sinking his teeth around a patch of skin, sucking languidly.
The sixteen-year-old threw his head back in pleasure as it dropped back onto the smaller man’s shoulder. “Shit,” he groaned out.
The eighteen-year-old tightened his grasp on the other’s erection, stroking faster as he ran his lips across the olive-tinged skin, marking the younger boy with little red spots. “Do you think of me clawing at your back, screaming your name out in pleasure as you hit that spot in me until I come?” he asked seductively.
With the heat rising from the water and their body temperatures, combined with Jaejoong’s dirty words and ministrations, Changmin began to fall apart at the seams as his orgasm crashed over him. He let out a strangled moan, nails digging into the older boy’s thighs as Jaejoong coaxed out all of his release. The sixteen-year-old felt his body go limp from the most intense orgasm he had experienced, Jaejoong’s grip on him the only thing keeping him upright. For the next few minutes, the eighteen-year-old ran his fingers through the other’s hair soothingly, his left arm moving to wrap around Changmin’s waist.
After a few minutes, Jaejoong hummed in satisfaction. “I bet you think about that all the time don’t you, Min-ah?’ he asked innocently as he tilted his head and kissed the other’s cheek.
Changmin stood upright, disoriented and confused with what just happened, but definitely embarrassed. “I…” he began shakily.
“Don’t be embarrassed,” Jaejoong cooed as he released his grip on the other. “Besides, you’re mine now,” he stated simply with a smile.
Before the sixteen-year-old could even process the situation, the raven-haired beauty was gone, leaving him alone in the shower of the fencing club.
--
“Jaejoong,” Changmin breathed, his head thrown back as he stroked himself to completion. His breath came in pants as he tried to calm himself down, sticking his hand out to prop him up against the shower stall.
Realizing what he had just done, the epeeist gasped in surprise and reached out for the shower handle, turning the lever all the way until there was no more hot water coming out. As the icy pellets of water thundered over his skin, the tall epeeist groaned in shame. Four years later and the simple thought of Jaejoong in nothing more than a towel still drove him crazy.
Spending an extra five minutes in the shower, the tall Adonis did everything in his power not to think of how much of a hold the raven actually had on him as well as his hormones as he scrubbed at his body.
--
“What?!” Changmin and Jaejoong shouted in unison, disbelief etched on their faces. “An overnight trip to Jeju?!”
The director nodded emphatically. “This is the perfect time for both of you to get your faces out there as a unit! Everyone who watched Good Morning, Korea knows that Mr. Shim is here but nobody has seen him in the flesh yet.”
“That’s perfectly fine that nobody has seen my face, Director!” Changmin blurted out, causing the older man to gaze at him in confusion. “I mean…” he continued, trying to find an excuse for his interruption, “Jaejoong has a fabulous stage presence when all eyes are on him. I just…” he paused, taking a look at the confused raven sitting adjacent to him, “I don’t think my face can compare to his…” he trailed off, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion as he realized what he just said.
“Oh, nonsense!” the Director shouted, waving his arms. “You’re good-looking, Mr. Shim! In fact, you two seem to balance each other out. While Jaejoong has the feminine features, your masculinity shines and compliments him!”
Changmin nearly doubled over in laughter when he saw the raven next to him glower at the Director, hands clutching the chair’s armrests. If there was anything the tall Adonis took from knowing Jaejoong, it was that he detested when people compared him to a woman. He knew his features made him look delicate but he was in no way fragile, and Changmin could definitely attest to that.
“I can see it in you two,” the Director continued, “and I just know we can get more of a following for the Olympics if you two are the forerunners of the National team. Just go to the interviews tomorrow morning and get your names out there!”
“But Director…” Jaejoong began through clenched teeth, “is it really necessary for us to have to fly out tonight?”
The Director nodded. “Jeju Vacation starts at 8am and you both wouldn’t be able to make it on time if you fly out tomorrow morning. We’re flying you out tonight and you’ll be back the morning of the foil bout.”
Jaejoong’s jaw dropped while Changmin tilted his head in confusion. “Director…” the younger man called out, “that’s in two days.”
The pair was met with another nod of his head. “Yes, yes it is,” he replied. “We’re giving you two time to enjoy yourself and unwind for that last night before coming back and having a hectic schedule as well as a full house. Treat yourselves!”
Both of the epeeists stared at him incredulously. An awkward silence filled the room as nobody moved to say anything or agree with the Director.
“Well then…” the Director said, breaking the silence as he checked his watch, “you two should head back to the apartment and pack a bag. Your flight leaves in three hours.” And with that, the Director waved them out with his hand.
Instantly, Jaejoong rose from his chair and stormed out of the room, Changmin hot on his heels. “This is fucking stupid,” Jaejoong muttered to himself as he exited the stairwell. “Not one night, but two? How do they expect me to survive?”
“Hey, I can still hear you,” Changmin commented, annoyed as he followed Jaejoong into the locker room to pick up his things.
The raven whipped his head around, wide eyes narrowing at the younger man before turning back and pulling his belongings from his locker.
“Look, Jaejoong,” the younger man voiced out, irritated at Jaejoong’s musings, “How about you get back to hating me after this trip? I know you’re worried about not surviving these 36 hours because you can’t stand being alone with me but if I’m willing to make the sacrifice could you too?”
Jaejoong froze, taking in what his former lover had just said. Slamming his locker shut, the raven slung his bag over his shoulder and strode over to the other man. Gazing up at the taller man from beneath his eyelashes, Jaejoong never tore his eyes away. “I don’t hate you, Changmin,” he stated clearly. “I never have…” he paused as he took a breath, “and I never will.”
Changmin was shocked and utterly surprised at the sudden change in behavior from the other man; Jaejoong a few days ago despised him and was heartless and cold. But who was this person here, emotional and innocent? As he saw the retreating wide shoulders and thin waist with a “I’ll be waiting in the car,” the tall Adonis plopped down onto the bench in front of his locker, bag dropping to the ground. Jaejoong was always the emotional type, being fueled by his feelings to the point that it hurt him numerous times. But seeing this side of the raven was a bit of a surprise to him; he hadn’t seen this part of Jaejoong for years. Dropping his head into his hands, Changmin rubbed his temples. Did Jaejoong still actually have feelings for him?
