V-Day
As everyone know, today is V-Day. Never been a big fan of the day. Generally, for the same reason most people are. V-Day as one of my friend called it "Happy Single Awareness Day". I do not have that reason these days because I am married. But, I am still not a fan of the day. It seem like a conspiracy by the card and chocolate industry to increase their sales. And probably the flower people too.
Also, I think that you don't need a specific day out of the year to tell someone you love them. That is something that you show everyday in some way.
I have gotten out of wearing black on the day and doing things that I really hate to do like laundry and taxes.
However, I cannot ignore the day because I have kids and they have card exchanges and parties at school for V-Day. Unfortunately, they will learn the good and the bads about the day.
Anyway, instead of giving cards, I will make a good dinner and brownies that we can all in enjoy. (Yes, I still like getting chocolate covered strawberries, but it is not a requirement. I would eat them any day if not every day if it was given to me.)
As time goes on, I will still deal with V-Day, but I am not required to like it.
