My Weekend
Dad went to JFK Hospital in Edison on Thursday to have his second stone surgery. They were not totally successful getting out all of the stones and he now has to go to NYU Hospital this summer to have a third surgery. This has to do w/ the spacing of his kidneys, the fact the stones are higher up than necessary and other events that make this not an easy surgery to perform.
His pain level was at a 9 of a 10 scale after the surgery and Susan had him admitted to get pain relief and to be monitored. He developed rather bad acid reflux and a fever on Friday and was kept until Saturday. Saturday saw Dad having tests on his heart and other tests I don't know the details of.
Today is a new surprise. Dad has pneumonia in his left lung. He is of course now staying for quite a bit longer than the Monday/Tuesday date we had yesterday.
According to Susan his pain is much better managed and he is feeling much better today despite the pneumonia and other general ailments due to the surgery.
And just now? My Mom called to wish me a happy birthday and apologized for being so woozy and out of it. She broke her arm.
