I don't Want to be an Eco-Terrorist!
Robin and I bought two water lettuces and two water hyacinths this summer at the Blue Plum Festival to put in our pond. They have grown and grown, and now we have too many. We have considered releasing them in Watauga Lake or the little creek at the bottom of our cliff, but I feel it might be unwise to release a non-native species into the wild. Q equated it to eco-terrorism.
I will probably call the local nurseries and see if they want any water plants, but what I really hope is that you want some. If you want some good water plants for your pond or other decorative water feature, please let us know. We'd love to give you some, as we don't want to throw them away and we don't want to destroy the environment.
