i think you're preppy... but: -----------Bush. The man is running our country into the ground. I don't know about you, but I live in Everett, Washington. Home of the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln 72 Aircraft Carrier. The one that was deployed for at least 9 months. 3 months over what they promised my friends' boyfriends, teachers' husbands, family friends, and family friends' children. In this city, patriotism is at an all time high. But I hate seeing my friends and family struck by this war unecessarily. Besides which, have you even bought gas recently?! There's no need to do what we're doing right now under ANY topic. Drilling in Alaska is killing endangered species, going after Iraq is killing our young men and women, and the rest of us are sitting at home watching the 5 o'clock news hoping nothing that happens will affect us and our happiness. -------abortion. Hellll-lllllo?! What about in cases of incest or if the mother's life is in danger? There's more to abortion than just "oh, well I'm pregnant and lazy, maybe I'll get an abortion." Firstly, abortions aren't cheap (that is, if they're being done correctly), they cause pain (emotional and physical), and can lead to health problems later on in life (women can become barren from abortions). An abortion is never a happy thing and should most deff. not be used as a means of birth control, but it should be always made available. When you take away rights such as those, you're getting close to opression. ---Michael Jackson. The man is freakin innocent until proven guilty! I'm not deffending him or anything like that, but when all the people of the world decide that he's sick and twisted because of accusations, I get seriously annoyed. The Catholic church was recently accused on numerous accounts of child molestation charges by 40 year old men. Why? Well, let's think-the Catholic church has the most money of any Religious denomination in the world. The accusors get money. Not to say that every accusor was incorrect or had alterior motives, but there's still reason to believe that's the case. + Britney Spears answer. I hate her.
Actually, I'm terribly sorry that you got the brunt of my frustration today. Usually, I'm not so harsh. (I swear I'm a great person!) But this has been broiling for awhile and I had to let it out.
Basically, I'm going to say yes anyways because no matter your beliefs, you're preppy. Yes. And sorry.
Very nice! Haha, well at least regarding the Bush and Abortion contradiction. I guess you are right though, in the United States you are "Innocent until proven guilty." However, I believe we should have the mindset of "Guilty until proven innocent." It's unlikely we'll change years of tradition though. Hope I don't have my head bitten off for that one! :)
Hah. Of course I won't bite yer head off. Actually, though. With all the suspects police bring in every day, assuming only one person is the culprit, I know I'd want to be treated with respect -especially if I wasn't actually guilty!
Drilling in Alaska is not killing endangered species. End of that atory.
People in Iraq can now vote, they have freedom, they don't have a leader who kills them, my Iraqi friends can now go back to their country and see their family. Yes, I feel bad for people with family and friends overseas. But they are doing something wonderful with this country and for the rest of the world. End of that story.
And Bush is not running out country into the ground. Checks and balances prevent that from happening. You may not approve of everything he is doing, but he is in no way destroying this country.
And the fact that people are voting against this person because she likes Bush is disgusting (I know you didn't, but others did). Your political views are in no way, shape, or form who you are. I know I am sick of being hung out to dry because I am a Republican. I still have people in the hall of my dorm who will not speak to me because I voted for Bush in the election. They hate me ebcause I am a Republican. That is immature and extremely un-American. The fact that we can have numerous political views is what makes our country great.
Sorry for that rant...but seriously. This has been pissing me off for about the last 4 years.
As much as I respect your opinion, I have to disagree.

Actually, it will. The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (for example) is home to over a hundred bird species in addition to polar bears, caribou, wolves and many other animals and plants. Oil drilling will cause a "cascade-effect". First some plants and animals will die, then other organisms that depend on those will die, etc, etc. There are also animals called "Keystone Predators" which in a way keep the ecosystem running smoothly. The Keystone Predator has a major influence on community structure. If these species die out, many other species will soon follow.
People in Iraq can now vote, they have freedom...
People living in Iraq, particularly women, are now more afraid to leave their homes then when Saddam Hussein was in power. I'm not saying that it wasn't a good thing that we got him out of the picture, but now all these militant groups are forming and in my opinion this has caused more terrorism then there was before.
Checks and balances prevent that from happening.
Yes, however the House of Representatives and Senate are (from the last time I checked) predominantly Republican.
The fact that we can have numerous political views is what makes our country great.
At least we can agree on something :) I have many Republican/Conservative friends, and I am open-minded when it comes to discussing politics with them.
