I have been placed for student teaching at Henry Clay High School. It's quite exciting to think that in 2 months I'll be running a classroom, and hopefully by this time next year I'll have my own class, with my students... ahhh!! I just can't wait!
In even better news, my flute choir director came to me during the break and said she was afraid to do the concert without me, especially on a song where there are two piccolos playing one part. The other girl is a freshman in high school and is still having problems learning to be loud, proud, and break glass when you play the pic. So, in conclusion, she said she wouldn't mind it if I played the Indy Flutefest, and then "suddenly became ill" and had to leave. I mulled it over for the remainder of rehearsal, and decided what the heck, I'll do it! I'll be jetting across two states in one day for the lovely Heather's wedding, but its not impossible.
The reason she declined me to begin with is because some of the parents of children in the choir only wanted to play one concert so that they could go to a museum. Which would be cool and all, but not the reason they were going up there. I guess I'll just have to put on my actor's make-up, get real sick, and somehow recover for the wedding. I think it's possible!
In conclusion, this has been a pretty spectac-awesome week. This coming week I don't have Cohort, which means I don't have to go to Bryan Station from 8-12 M-R, but I still have a class on Monday day, Tuesday night, and Wednesday night, AND I have to go to Henry Clay Tuesday for most of the day. No real problems, except I was going to use most of this weekend to complete the gargantuan load of essays, lesson plans, and outlines needed. I refuse to fret or worry, however. I got this covered.
Going to make a movie of my "educational autobiography now". Wish me luck!
