(2011 Boston Ballet staging)
Absolutely lovely, whimsical, and funny. An imaginative dance interpretation of the play. Jeff Cirio as Puck was incredibly entertaining. It is a privilege to watch him dance.
The costumes, borrowed from Teatro alla Scala of Milan were incredibly gorgeous. There was a floral textured cloth that kept showing up in different colors and different articles of clothing (long skirt, underskirt, short skirt). It made for an intriguing costume story across all of the characters.
The wedding in the second act was an excellent example of the divertissement structure and completely pointless.
