chit chats, september and auburn- weekend wrap up

i talked to matt on thursday night. overall, it was a really good conversation. he's moved on and has found someone that he really cares about. i'm thrilled for him. we talked about how, if anything, we had our relationship to teach each other what we wanted out of a relationship. we talked about what went wrong with us and what went right. i told him part of the reason i left was because in order for us to grow and mature we needed to be apart. neither of us would have taken the initiative to break-up if something didn't change. so i took the step and moved away. he told me that that was half the reason he was so supportive with my move. i guess it would have been better if we had let each other be honest about this a year ago, but going through what we did helped strengthen the parts of us that needed to be worked on. all in all, we knew all along that we weren't meant for each other permanently and that we were just a stepping stone for each other.

courtney moved to austen, tx. on friday. i miss her and buddy- a lot.

friday night i went to auburn to kick off college football season (even though my loyalty lies with alabama). at midnight they popped and sprayed a bunch of champagne, and of course, i got soaked. we partied the rest of the night/ morning away before heading towards the stadium for some tailgating. these people are nuts about their football. seriously. the game was intense. four fighter planes flew over at the beginning and typically they have an eagle fly over at the start of the game and land in the 50 yard line, but it was raining so the bird didn't fly. we ended up leaving with 10 minutes left of the 4th figuring that auburn was gonna lose (they played shitty all game) but of course they ended up gettign two touchdowns and winning (figures). i came back sunday and slept most of the day away.

watched weeds last night. eagerly awaiting mary kate's arrival on the show.

september marks a busy busy month for us here at the GFBCI. its national preparedness month. be informed. be involved. be ready.
