The Long and Short of a Short and Long Week...
A couple of weeks ago, I started playing a text based war game I played in college. It is addictive... It's called Utopia. I played from late 1999 through 2002. When I left the game, I was a top player... I left, however, because it was no longer fun. One particular kingdom didn't like me and, though we were in a war, they focused all their attacks on my province instead of spreading them out across 24 others.
The bitterness that was, is no more.... and, on a whim, I remembered the game and started an account-- the round (which lasts 3 months) had just started. It was perfect timing.
Soooo... that's going well. We had a kingdom (KD) monarch leave us... as did a couple of our top players... but, we're doing well... and are in the middle of a war. Oh, yeah... I was also elected monarch-- I was the only one stupid enough to take on the role. Heh.
Jordan's dad is 100% back to normal. He is missing Monday, though... lots of Monday.
Speaking of Monday-- I had a holiday and so did Jordan. Jordan had planned on going camping, but the people he was going with bailed on him. He NEEDED to get out of town because he was getting stressed, so I said I'd go... now that we'd only be going for one night. Unfortunately, since half the state is on fire (which is fairly typical in Arizona during the summer)... they have fire restrictions. So, we could go camping but not have a fire.
I told Jordan we could go ANYWHERE. I suggested we go to Jerome or Bisbee and do the tourist thing. He chose Bisbee. We stayed the night in Room 201 of the Copper Queen Hotel in Bisbee. It's supposed to be haunted, but we were in the wrong wing on the wrong floor to see any ghosts. It was slightly disappointing. We used Jordan's half of the house cleaning money we'd earned to pay for food and we put the rest on the visa since we get 3 paycheques in June.
I skipped Saturday-- block was on sale at Lowe's 20% off for Memorial Day. I used my house cleaning money to buy the rest of the retaining wall block we needed. We built up the center two planters. On Sunday, we finished one of the 2-tier planters. I'll have to post revised photos... because I have to show our over-planted beast of a garden.
Going back...
On Tuesday, I got "yelled" at... for doing my job. I had a long rant about it Tues and Wed... so it's mostly out of my system. But, it really annoyed the crap outa me that I was being lectured on "taking too long" when I kept having to do other things people asked me, I took off one day to go to the hospital... and I didn't just have to count things, but calculate them too. The crappy part was, just after the person finished scolding me for taking too long, they went one cubicle over where they chatted it up for 30 minutes. Try explaining to me how *I'm* the one wasting time?... I'm over it now. But I was pretty upset for a while. It didn't help that I'm already "riding the killing edge"... I should have had Jordan take me to the driving range.
I now have all the supplies I need to make my Halloween costume... I just have to sit down and start cutting fabric and sewing. It doesn't help I'm addicted to that war game... again.
