More Toe Abuse

So... back in November I had that hang-nail that got infected. A couple years before that, I kicked Jordan's boot and broke the nail past the quick... last night... I had a portable DVD player fall on my toe. Please don't report me to the big-toe protective agency for toe abuse. Really.

The whole thing is silly. I could have avoided it... and the 2-ish full minutes of swearing and crying that was the result.

I was putting clothes baskets back where they go in the bedroom. Jordan had "rigged" the pull up bar that he hardly ever uses by setting it where the empty clothes baskets go. (I had done laundry, as usual.) The bar, somehow, had gotten placed in a loop for the cord that runs from the portable DVD player we have set up atop the small, old-school television in our bedroom. I had a clothes basket in hand, which I could have and should have set down, and I pulled on the pull-up bar... which pulled the DVD player down to the floor... and onto my big toe.

Now, mind you, I may not be a sailor... but I could have made one blush (or laugh) with the string of profanity that I let roll off my tongue. For some reason, swearing helped. I still cried. That helped too. The pain was a sharp throbbing... like... like I'd just thrown a DVD player onto my toe. Jordan gave me first rate service. He gave me an ice-pack, kisses, a "water goblet" (which is what I call my nightly glass of water I keep on the nightstand), tucked me in, and gave me more kisses and loves. That helped most of all.

My toe is still horribly sore today, but I don't think I'll lose the nail. There is a tinge of blue to the nail... but it mostly looks okay. Whew.

Aside from my toe, I don't have anything really exciting going on. We did our taxes this weekend, caught up on housework... I looked for job number 2 and didn't find anything still. Blah.

Our on-going mission to clean out closets is, well, on-going.

I started trying to work on the back yard again... y'know, now that I have all this extra-bonus 12-hours a week.

health, toe, home
