On the Road to Recovery

Nov 18, 2009 07:39

I knew I was coming down with something, but I thought I had it beat. Wednesday I had body aches and my tummy was cranky-pants from some post-nasal drainage. Thursday, I felt fine. Friday, I was a little achy. Saturday, after Piper's birthday party, was when it hit me with a big WHAMMO-- a cold.

Saturday night my nose was all runny and my head was stuffy and I was exhausted. Sunday, I wasn't going anywhere. My nose was a literal faucet and I went through a whole roll of toilet paper trying to keep it clear enough to have some semblance of what one would describe as being able to breathe.

I did not go to work on Monday or Tuesday. I spent Monday in a coma and Tuesday trying to breathe and making sure I coughed a lot so I *hopefully* don't get Pneumonia.

I'm back at work today... but there are things that I missed out on and things I feel bad about.

Monday was my 5 year anniversary at work. This marks the longest period of time in which I've worked at any one place. One more year and I'll be fully vested!

I was supposed to have some bus pullout plans finished Tuesday. Yeah... so didn't happen. I think.

... and I was told one of my co-workers had the sniffly-runny nose and sneezing yesterday, which means I passed my cold onward. I feel really bad about that.

... and... because I was in a coma all weekend, I didn't get any writing done on my NaNoWriMo story, which means I'm more than abysmally behind and probably will not be a "winner" this year-- my first year. I may give up the ghost on this one.

Anyway... chest and head are still both congested, but I feel mostly better. Hopefully I didn't get anyone else sick.
