I recently commented to my husband how I thought English (as in England English) accents were delightful. This was inspired by the cashier at the food store, who clearly was sporting a delightful and natural English accent. Having "caught" the accent when in England some +10 years ago... I can say it is quite catchy...
BUT, I wondered to my husband, why do English musicians sing with an "American" accent?
I now have an answer-- they don't. At least... Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones didn't. So... cheers to Mick for maintaining his English decorum even though he's singing rock music!
